That does make sense given her eagerness to protect Yuko, but I did want to be sure I had it right.

Thanks for the answer.

Oh man, I just noticed that after a fight, everyone in your party gets the experience for it. Not just the people you sent out. I am finding more and more mechanics in this game I really enjoy.

It took a bunch of the things I despise about JRPG's and just said "Hey, nah, we don't do that dumb shit. Here's something better actually."

Cool, you and the translator were funny and made a pretty good team, you should consider doing more streams together. :)

neonie wrote:I recently learned the game is pretty much actively designed for you to switch out. Like even more so then pokemon in that it lets you still attack/do a thing after. Items also let you do a thing after using them, which I quite like, since it means the game effectively doesn't punish you for healing, either by swapping Yuko in or using a healing item.

Really like these mechanics, but especially the latter. I much prefer when JRPGs implement that system. Out of curiosity, how evenly is the experience distributed? Do all of the girls get an equal amount? I'm guessing not, but would be nice.

Also, I finally caved and just bought the LE for this game... Finally decided I just didn't want to pass it up.

Yes, everyone who is alive gets all of the experience.

Quite a lot of games distribute experience to benched characters in some form, and even more allow you to add that sort of effect if it's not innate.

I wonder what the best party would be. I'm currently using Kisaragi, Alice, Ran and Shin.

The best party would be to switch them out as needed, since putting a character in doesn't use up a turn and they're all available at all times, and switching a character in will also give you a move suggestion from them.

You don't see this game discussed much elsewhere, but one topic I've seen seems to agree with Neonie. You can't really mess up your party. Although Alice, Ran and especially Kisaragi tend to get a lot of love from what I've seen. Prinny Supervisor praised Tomoe too, for whatever it's worth.

My part is mostly Kisaragi, Alice and Tomoe, with a fourth slot to switch out character depending on the situation. It took me quite long to get hooked, I nearly fell asleep in the first hour or so, but now that I'm hooked, the game's pretty addictive and I don't even know why. I find the gameplay mechanic dull and the random encounters annoying, but somehow I just love the game. Currently halfway through the four trials.

Tomoe is fantastic for getting experience. She should always be in your default party, and you can get in two or three of her multi-hit attacks out and destroy everything in an instant for a few encounters.

I just grind at the rest spots - have Sako call the enemies, have Tomoe DESTROY them, and mop up if I need to with the others. Heal as necessary, grind enough for easy story progression. Working well so far. ^^

So little love for Sako, I love her single target damage, she's also starting to gain a ton of more hp than my other party members. She's about 30 hp above Kisaragi/Tomoe at the same level.

Well Tomoe is specially built for slicing things up. They even said she specifically gave up her defense in exchange for offense. Kisaragi is also more of an Att > Def.

Ran and Sako are both more defensive players, and Ran's Party Revival skill is useful as all get out.
