Operation Abyss: New Tokyo Legacy (Vita) Limited Edition Up!

Postby Shizuka » Wed Oct 02, 2013 3:21 am

Experience is continuing Labyrinth Cross Blood Infinity story with Tokyo New World Record: Operation Abyss. Both games take place in a Tokyo which is overrun by monsters. A few men and women have special abilities to fight back and join the Exe Corps.

Famitsu explains, Tokyo New World Record: Operation Abyss has 3D dungeons and you can bring six Exe Corps into a dungeon.

Making dungeon RPGs is Experience’s specialty and Tokyo New World Record has some good ideas like the Rise & Drop system. Fighting enemies increases the Encounter Gauge in the top left hand corner and when this rises there is a greater chance you will run into a stronger enemy which will drop better loot. Players can also leave Dungeon Memos that friends can pick up in their game.

Tokyo New World Record: Operation Abyss comes out on January 23 in Japan for Vita.

must....get... :)

I am suprised it'll be in the same world as Labyrinth cross blood. I wonder how Alice will look, she didn't do much in labyrinth cross blood (I think she went to america...), but she is a important character in the generation xth series.

I'd rather like to see this one brought over.

Oh this game! I have been following the original release since a while back when I heard the Jazz Lounge version of its original opening theme: Scarlet Wings.

I tend to listen to that track in the early hours of the morning while sitting at the reception desk; waiting for people to come down for breakfast—its super chill. That aside, the game look looks promising enough, and I'd definitely buy it.

Official website launched, with lots of new arts and info.

One thing to notice, is that the publisher for this game will be CyberFront, the same publisher from Labyrinth Cross Blood Infinity, another Experience game for the Vita. It's not the same publisher that did Demon Gaze, which means it could be harder for NISA to grab this one, and LCBI as well.

the artwork changed a bit. it kinda feels like generation xth mixed with demon gaze style. I just hope it won't lose too much atmosphere, this is the thing that's really good about this serie.

If Demon Gaze does well for NISA, I don't see why they wouldn't at least consider Tokyo New Word Record since it will certainly appeal to the same audience.

Unless, of course, something really bad happens during this game development.

I really hope NISA will do this one after Demon Gaze.

They probably want to see how well Demon Gaze sells - if Vita DRPG's are at least reasonably successful, they'll probably look into more. ^^

More characters. I want this game even more now. Personally I think it would be more profitable than Labyrinth Cross Blood Infinity. I would rather NISA go to this one next.

Either one is fine, I just hope it doesn't end with Demon Gaze.
