Playing to Catch Up game

So I've decided to catch up with the Atelier series, and like I did with Ar Tonelico last year, I like to start from the beginning, so because I can't speak Japanese, I'm starting with the Iris series - does anybody have any recommendations of what order to play the games? I already have Rorona and Totori for the ps3 sitting on my shelf waiting for me to get up to them.

I'm about 8 hours into Iris 1 - liking it so far. Nice change having the MC as a caster rather than the usual sword toting goodie.

And yes, I'm a newbie to the forums!

How many connections are there between all the different sagas? I already noticed Rorona running around in Iris 1 (I don't know if it's the same Rorona though?...)

Besides Pamela/Hagel, there's really little to no links between the different series.

Iris is a series
Mana Khemia is another series
And Arland is another series composed of Rorona, Totori, and Meruru (which is being released by NISA in May)
The series themselves usually link quite a bit to each other though. Like, the different Iris games have a good amount of links between them. But, Arland games, and the Iris games, have no link really, except Maaaaybe a cameo of some sort.

The order of release of the series :
Iris
Mana Khemia
Arland
Those are the localized ones so far.

Oh, and there's also Atelier Annie, which is a side-game, but has some links to other side games, but those side-games were never localized.

I tried looking Atelier Annie up and it looks like a boring Atelier Totori
And Mana Khemia 1 is the only one I've played before Totori!

Gamestop has used PS2s in for about 30-40 dollars in the states. Though I recommend a warranty with theirs, lass; those will run you around five dollars.
