I still like this series... maybe you need to be a mythology nerd :S

That's a possibility. Though I do enjoy mythology, it's not enough to keep interested in what's going on. I dunno how fast it's moving compared to the novels, but I'd have to say, it's moving really fast. The pacing is just too quick, and has been since the first episode.

I don't understand how something can be "bland" and also "move to fast". I'm really enjoying the show, and I quite like Erica (I kind of just like girls like Erica to begin with). Shrine Maiden girl on the other hand is kind of annoying.

Episode 2 is the first 2 chapters (of 7 total) in LN 1. I'll finish up LN 1 now that the Athena arc is over, but I'm assuming the other 5 chapters are adapted into episodes 3 and 4.

Putting episide 1 aside, where I think that establishing the setting for viewers forgives rushing, 3 episodes for 1 LN feels appropriate to me. Sometimes shows/series move faster than others; if you don't like the pacing, seems fine to not like the show /shrug. I've definitely dropped many shows because they were too slow to me, so maybe I just like faster pacing.

It's 'bland' because it moves too fast for me to become invested in any characters. We're four episodes in and there's only one character I find interesting, but not a single character I can say I 'like'

Yeah, it could just be that's the pace for the novel, and so it just really won't ever become more interesting to me.

I like the pace it's been going. Hell I liked the pace of the first episode really. I like shows that don't linger on crap that doesn't really matter in the long run for the kind of show it is.

Maybe it's not so much it's moving to fast but you just don't like the type of characters it's throwing out?

I like things to linger. I like spending time with characters and getting to know them. Character development is the MOST important thing for me in an anime. Yet, with this show, I know barely anything about the main characters even, and we're four episodes in. The 'villains' are basically like wisps that briefly appear and are gone before you know it.

Everything is really just moving too fast.

Mm-hmm. It's hard to get invested emotionally in a character if it doesn't slow down to show stuff. XD; The Novels do it better, though, and that's the main medium of this series for me.

Salvatore ftw. XD Episode 5 was a nice break, but I'm looking forward to returning to the action.

I got to the black-haired girl (from the opening) while reading the Light Novels... She's just... :lol:

Anyway, yeah. As usual, the Light Novel is superior to the Anime, so I'm watching the anime just for the fun of seeing some scenes animated.

Yeah, he's just kinda mentioned here-and-there in the LN's, but the anime has a harder time of it. XD;
