Chances for a Season 2 of the anime?

Postby Daggypls » Mon Jul 14, 2014 8:43 pm

Hey! I finished watching the anime and I loved It! The characters, clever parodying of the gaming industry.. Oh man. I realized that even when there are hundreds of other moe anime (this one was actually watchable without cringing too often!) There just isn't one that's the same, I got attached to the characters and now I regret that instead of a ps3 I have an xbox because 11 y/o me back in the day though shooters were the coolest and I can play halo on it, it's clearly the better console right?

I was so wrong. Now I'm all about story driven stuff and RPG's and I want to play Neptunia so much but I bought an xbox instead of a ps3 back in the day. Damn. I can't get my fix, so tell me guys, Since games are still coming out, is there a chance for a second season and possibly a long-lasting neptunia anime continuation(is that a real word?) of the anime? I somehow enjoyed it greatly even it was moe. Hope is the key and it rides alone...

To answer your question, yes there's always a chance. I don't see it happening myself, I'd put the odds slightly greater than 0 but less than insignificant. Of course, this is just an opinion. Don't take it like I'm trying to crush your dreams or anything. :?

My dreams have been destroyed long ago, this is just a hope.

I just realized how terribly I worded this post and how many mistakes I made, damn you mobile touchscreen devices!

In a few years (when there are more main games to get things to animate) if the series is still selling, I would imagine they might try again.

Chances are, almost zero, IMO. It's not as popular (yet) as Hakuoki, which is the only IF series to get multiple anime series.

Looking at sales, It didn't do too well. Well, there go my dreams. This series is gonna leave a post-anime void.

Well, I can still hope. Or sell/trade my xbox for a ps3 and play the games. Then again, my family is gonna laugh at me for buying "anime/moeshit games"

EDIT: as in, the anime didn't do well.

Sales of the BDs aren't the only metric: you have to factor in merchandising, game sales, manga...
For example, looking at Kyoto Animation's Hyouka sales one may think it was a disaster considering the production values: however the goal was to increase the novel sales, and it succeeded in that regard.
What I am saying is, there's insufficient data to say for sure.

With new games still coming out I think the chances might be increasing, as I learned from the merchandise thread there's quite a bunch of merch around, no idea about merch sales though. Way more decent merch than a lot of popular stuff has to offer (screw your lack of merchandise, Dark Souls)

Then again, that's just me knowing chances are slim and trying to rationalize my personal desire for a season 2 and trying to force myself to think It's gonna be confirmed sometime soon. I always do that and I. end up hating myself for it.

This post made me doubt my entire point of view on the world and things I want. Woah.

Sorry for the double post, but I just realized god damn birdemic got a sequel movie, there's always a chance.

Of course if anyone has some good information regarding why there could be/would not be a season 2 please post here, but I just got pretty optimistic.

All I know is that if a second season happens, you'll be able to hear the anguished screams of the JoJo fanbase even when you're not remotely online

And all ps3 owners hear my sobbing and smell my tears of regret because 11 year old me bought an xbox 360 and now older me can't play Neptunia on it. Or any decent japanese games for that matter. I mean I have Dark Souls but I did miss out on Demon Souls.

11 old me, you suck and I hate you. Also your friends are assholes. Don't trust them and don't wait outside after school. Especially in the winter.

Even without context, this post is absolutely fantastic.

As far as I'm seeing, the anime has no chance of having a second season. But I do see a possibility of a different Neptunia anime depending on how popular V2 is and how it's written.
This is what Ben Carson will do to political correctness. I approve.

Why no chance? Unless you mean in the immediate sense because there aren't more games, anyway.

Once there are more though, I think it's fair game.
