I haven't gotten a chance to play V2. Up until two weeks ago my PS4 was sitting boxed up, mind you I bought it in November 2015. Working better hours with a slightly increased pay opened up my options a bit so I bought myself high-speed internet for myself and my parents. So now I've gotten a chance to hook everything up but I've been waiting for all the DLC to drop to play while I work through Nights of Azure. V2 is most likely next on my list, or Atelier Sophie. Depends on how long it takes me to beat and/or platinum Azure.

It kinda changes from time to time, but usually Compa, Vert, and Peashy are the ones up top.

Magician_Type_0 wrote:It's hilarious because Nepgear/Purple Sister's design was the primary motivator for me to want to investigate the game back in 2012. I saw her back on an ANN article because they started around that time to engross themselves into videogames and I supposed you can say it was love at first sight. MK2 was my gateway into the franchise and that's when the insanity ensued.

I'm not entirely sure how I first got into the franchise. I remember being at GameStop years ago looking for something different to try out when I came across Victory (and the original game). The character designs seemed cool and I got intrigued, so I went back home to do a bit more research on the game(s). I've pretty much stuck to the series ever since.

Honestly, while Victory gives me mixed memories (made even worse after playing the superior Re;Birth titles), after playing all three Re;Birth games, it is nice to see how the games evolve over time except for the dungeons. I've yet to play V-II, but with what I've been seeing and hearing, I reckon I'll have fun with that game, too.

That's awesome to hear! Hopefully you'll have a good time with all those games now that you're able to play. I've been meaning to start Estival Versus recently, but haven't gotten around to it. Hopefully this weekend I'll be able to make some progress. All of the VII DLC is out now, as far as I know, unless they plan on releasing more that I'm unaware of.

I have to agree...going back to the original and Mk2 would be rather hard for me. Especially seeing how polished VII is, gameplay and performance wise. That being said, I'll always appreciate Victory despite its flaws. And regarding your favorite characters...it's unfortunate they have so little merch. I'm a big Compa fan as well.

Mine would be Nepgear ( Purple Sister ) and Noire ( Black Heart ), yea; I'm particularly original. But I also really like Purple Heart, Blanc ( Post HDN ), Red, Mages., Chika. I'm sure I'll like Nitroplus too given I absolutely love her design.

I'm guilty too; Nepgear and Noire are near the top for me as well. Though V2 Neptune and Plutia are pretty close to them as well. I like a lot of the characters though, it's very hard to pick for me. That being said, I'd also have to put Compa and Uzume up there as well.

I can't evaluate V2 Neptune or Uzume due to lack of perspective. Can't say I agree with Plutia or Compa, but that's okay.

I know you might have missed it since I edited an earlier post, but do you have a piece or two of merchandise that you're particularly attached to?

Well if I had to choose, I really do like the 5th anniversary tapestries the most. I can relink you if you'd like, but there are pictures of both a bit earlier in the thread. The first, with the original characters, is probably my personal favorite of the two. I love the art/design on it (Tsunako is just fantastic) and the colors are great. I do also really like the two Neptunia figures I own: Alter's Black Heart and the recent Blanc, in her design from the spin-off.

I've seen them on AmiAmi. The one you're speaking of is quite nice, very nostalgic to the style of art and character placements of the original game. Reminds me a lot of the early art pieces Tsunako did for the original game and I bet you it's done intentionally to mimic that style. I own a few HDN figures, sadly my Alter Black Heart and my Plum Blanc are still boxed due to lack of space, but I love both of them. The Wing Purple Heart in her full processor is extremely lovely too. I'm torn because I'm sure Alter will do a bang-up job on their version of Purple Heart but I already own the Wing one. I'll probably just say screw it and buy it anyway.

Regarding tapestries though, if I buy them I prefer them to be jaw-dropping so I prefer going for the lewd ones... I'm sure you've seen and realized this for yourself already, lol. Sure it's weird, but might as well go big or go home, right?

I've been contemplating Wings's Purple Heart, but after seeing the prototype sculpt for Alter's, I decided to hold off. It's fantastic looking so far, and given the fact that it's Alter, I doubt I have anything to worry about. Very much looking forward to the release of that, whenever it may be. Tapestries. Personally, I do like some of the lewd ones, but some are too much for me, lol (can't believe I'm saying that, ahaha). I guess you can say I prefer the cuter or simpler designs over lewds. The only "lewd" one I own is the Compa and Histoire one. I don't think it's all that weird, though. Like you said, might as well buy the extravagant ones if that's your thing. ^^ But, the prices on some of them is just incredible. o__o

Still best in the series, IMO. I keep waiting for a new game to come along and top it but so far nothing has.

I do appreciate the continued improvements in gameplay, though. And at least some of the new characters. But HDN is still top for me on characters/story.

I always heard that HDN had the best characterization out of all the games, but hearing this again just makes me wanna go buy it and experience it myself.

Even if I had to suffer through its RNG healing mechanic.

Also, why the hell did they turn Vert's original and badass drill-lance into a comparatively boring spear in the subsequent games anyway? </3

I feel the same, it's becoming tempting now...
