The thing about Red is that Gust is now in the same situation, having been bought by Koei. Who knows how Compile Heart will respond to the fact that sooner or later, all of the companies that are represented in the cast are going to be bought out and making their inclusion more difficult.


It doesn't help that the staff previously responded to the Red inquiries before by basically saying "we wanted to put in new characters in mk2", which was pretty much sidestepping the question.

Nippon Ichi will never be bought out, their ties with Sony are way to strong for that to happen, and in Japan they are a lot more popular and widespread. Gust really has no problem, in fact, the past four dengeki articles have listed Gust, Nippon Ichi, and 5pb records in the copyrights.

Cave and Falcom? I don't see them ever being bought out either... in fact that very idea is absurd.

A few months before Mk2 was released, 5pb was re-branded as the company "Mages" which merged 5pb Records into it's parent company. Did anything happen there? No, because 5pb records, still operates as 5pb records. Just how Gust still operates under Tecmo Koei as Gust, and Compile Heart operates under Idea Factory-- as you guessed it! Compile Heart.

In the US it's what we like to call a monopoly, kind of like how AT&T owns T-Mobile, but T-Mobile is still branded as a competitor. Despite the fine print saying "T-Mobile cellular services are a product of AT&T Corp. and Partners."

It's no different.

I just want characters that are not cheesy like the CPU candidates are cause Nepgear just annoyed me through the game and so did Compa a little and they changed IF's personality a little to much its depressing ALSO the moves in the first game were 10x cooler now they go so fast you cant even see them

Why has a RED chart that was made in the same manner of the charts for the other MK2 characters shown up? Not to raise any false hopes, but it popped up a while ago and no one on the staff said anything about it.

It was labeled as "bonus". I think that pretty much gives it all away.

in japan, things work differently. tsunako owns the rights to the character design, but RED owns the character as a whole (but NOT the design, meaning tsunako could take red's design and make a completely different character, and the company couldn't do a single thing). tsunako is allowed to distribute as many calenders and charts as SHE feels (the first time was a tpyo) because of the doujin rights of being able to distribute a someone else's creation as long as it has a physical product and doesn't infringe on the rights by completely copying the story of the original product.
