The fact I bought these characters and I have to complete the game to use them makes me so mad. I completed the US version but DLC wouldn't work for that. So I buy the PAL version NOW it does'nt know I ever played it so I have to start over. Terrible idea, we should simply just be allowed to have them in our team PERIOD, especially since we payed money for them.

Importing carries risks, and this is one of the main reasons why importing games gets a little fiddly, region-locked DLC, and why I very nearly didn't do it.
You could've always made an American account, bought some credit for it online, then buy & download the DLC and then it'll work fine on your normal EU account. The PAL and NA versions are completely separate, as if I recall even the online user content is as well. Which is why it doesn't recognise your saves, as it's essentially for an entirely different game, (no different from expecting your saves to work with a Japanese copy or vice versa really).
The characters are only available post-game as they're written to explain why they appear, and that only really makes sense if you've gotten to the end of the game first. Not to mention to have to try and explain why they don't chime in to anything about the main story, as there's some pretty strong personalities in there you just know wouldn't keep quiet. Besides, you wouldn't even be able to recruit them at the start of the game, seeing as you have to fight them and they're level 100.

I don't mind playing it again, I just HATE paying for DLC in the first place, I hate DLC in every sense, if they want to give extras after game completion why should I pay for it? And if I do have to, I feel I deserve to get what I pay for right away. No stop being a baby suck it up crap. Instead, a WARNING would be nice UPON PURCHASE because that money could have gone towards my overdraught until I had completion of the game and the stuff I bought actually WORKED.
