So, what exactly is this?

FIRST!

I know all about Arkawa, but I don't really know much about Katanagatari. And since it's getting the nisa treatment and is in blu-ray, I kinda need to know.

So yeah, those of you who know me, would you recommend it? And others who don't, impress me ;)

Honestly, I am not sure if this is up your alley or not. It is not a feel-good story, there is little to no fan-service, and there are a lot of rich cultural references of Japan's history in this. I personally really enjoyed it, it had an engrossing storyline that kept me involved the whole series, although I wasn't a fan of the ending, it kinda turned around one me >.<

If you like the mystery-esque of Gosick, you might like this as each quest for the sword involves strategy and plotting and not just an all out fight to win. (although there are some pretty cool battles).

Anyone else care to chime in?

It's a martial-artsy series (don't expect more than a short fight per episode, though) by the same author that did Bakemonogatari. It's great, and definitely one of the best shows last year. Highly recommended.

It's also in more of a "movie" format; NISA is only releasing six episodes per set, as I recall, but each of those episodes is about 50 minutes. Which means that they actually had the time to relax a little and develop things properly in each episode.

Also?

It's very good.

Also?

This is actually sounding better and better and the artwork looks beautiful. Might have to pick this up.

I wonder if I should pre-order it or if they will have it early for anime expo. Hmmm.
