I've been playing iPhone games for a while. That's true that they got other stuff than FPS on consoles, they got GTA, God of War, Elder Scrolls and a bunch of other games in the market, a Compile Heart RPG definitely sticks out in the western gaming market.

I watched a couple of favorable reviews on Youtube about the first Mugen Souls and what I've seen seems to match my preference. The review I found was actually from trendygamer.com where he makes fun of Compile Heart games in general and probably degraded the western viewers of gamers for our Asian counterparts since it is an infamous review.

Once you understand the game, it's pretty fun. It's just... abnormally complex and kind of grind-y. XD It has its flaws, but it's plenty fun.

Yes, I heard about the complexity of the battle system and the load times but I don't think it'll matter much. I like turn based strategy.

Well, strategy isn't a *huge* part of it... most of the time... when your enemies aren't totally invincible from a field effect... XD You can get pretty insanely strong.

Not a huge part huh? But the battle system does seem pretty complex and it's turned based so we can make good commands. It does not look like older turn based RPGs where grinding is necessary because the choice to attack, cast magic and heal is obvious, this battle system looks pretty awesome.

Grinding is COMPLETELY necessary for the True End and beating the bonus bosses, particularly because you need Shampuru. Fortunately, the whole system is quite easy to abuse. XD

So the battle for the true ending is going to be impossible without grinding? Getting the true end is definitely something I wanna achieve in this game because I would ignore what would happen in the other ones. Endings that aren't true are usually cliffhanger endings lol.

Not so much the battle as the fact that you need quite a lot of Peons... rather more than you'll get through playing normally... XD

That part of the system sounds confusing, it looks an insane amount of peons but hopefully it's not going to take months.

Speaking of grinding, here's an off topic quiz about a grind game. What kind of successful low budget (under $1,000,000) game with limited features and still costs $50 for us to buy?
Hint: its most successful on Nintendo portable devices.

Well, some areas are good for grinding them, but I would expect it to take a number of hours... Knowing how to abuse the system makes all the difference, though.

***Glad to be back to the first thread I made a post on :)
Compile Heart has added some things on the Mugen Souls Z and main webpage such preorders for the official artbook and a spinoff novel. There's still no cover for the novel yet but at least the Mugen Souls Z webpage shows us how "Pirate Queen Chou-Chou" looks like with her trench coat and pirate hat.

This is old news but the summer Comic Market is approaching which most of you probably heard about on Fairy Fencer F thread. I wonder if they will have the pillow cases available after the event? Hopefully they will give more information about the novel afterwords, it looks like good practice if you want to practice reading non-English texts as a Mugen Souls fan.

Nice, how much Japanese do you know by the way? I actually know a little and everything about Mugen Souls Z is pretty comprehensible.
Spoiler:
Chou-Chou begins time traveling from the 7 days and moving on to conquering the 12 months and we'll just leave the story at that.
