one thing that is miffed up about the gameplay is that it's a shame they chose the same watered down nature of RPG combat and adventure (well with the exception different worlds can be visited, and forms can be changed.)
Come on, someone powerful like Chou Chou should be doing more epic things than what's seen in Disgaea.
Even her basic magic/skills from the start should be even more epic than Tera spells (and get more epic from there).
The combat just looks so lukewarm, even the post story stats and abilities are just so late that it's like you have a party of peons that like got the nerfbat or something and have to work their way up to uber status (like every single protagonist in virtually every RPG..........) It wouldn't have hurt to have Chou Chou start at level 100 and adjust the enemy levels/stats accordingly.
Well yeah, even Valkyrie Profile had a very "grounded" experience outside of the world map and finishing strikes.
But Mugen Souls has so much more potential. There other thing is how come Chou Chou doesn't float? They are hoofing around like this is a Tales game or something.
Well I only seen some of the early bits but it doesn't seem as cosmic as it could be in regardless to its field travel and combat. Also why did they go for a more menu driven approach than the single press attacks from Neptunia? Mugen Souls combat just seems more cumbersome than it should be. Neptunia mk2 showed you can have instant action buttons that can combo and flow naturally together, while still offering menus to select advanced skills. the pacing of Mugen Souls combat just seems overly convoluted than Neptunia before the action gets going, but this is based on first impressions.
