Well, ASIC clearly promoted the absolute freedom to buy games. Remember Brave's scenes with Uni? It was implying that creators didn't need to be paid for the work they did; they should make games only because they like them.
In other words, there's little incentive besides personal interest to make games... which, I might add, are suggested to be a major component of Gamindustri's society. With nobody getting paid for games, it seems like a whole lot of the workforce would be unemployed, thus annihilating Gamindustri's economy and potentially eliminating the actual game industry in favor of something less... focused.
So, yeah. ASIC = Bad.
