So now that we know that about 90% of the main scenario is voiced, I'm hyped...can't wait to hear the VAs

Well, the whole system in HDN is based around nepotism anyway.

Only thing I hate about HDN is they never tell you exactly why Arfoire is evil... The main cast just doesn't like them.

For all we're told, Arfoire probably made the world better and the CPUs are just jealous terrorists.

^This is something I thought about during Nep 1. I mean, I know what she -represents- is bad for the industry, but they wrote her as

I figured spoiler tags would work, since I dunno how many people really read into the Nepverse.

Don't read too deeply; I seriously don't know if we are or not.
Okay Detective Noire, whatever. We won't get anywhere with you leading this investigation.

I always figured that Arfoire sort of gave up her powers (put them into Histy, anyway), and after that, she eventually grew disillusioned over time and then went nuts.

Could be wrong, though. o wo

Ohhh, Lyner's here? And talking about Neptunia?

I hope you're still here, Lyner. I wanted to ask you something about Mk2's voice-acting. Why does everyone sound so... different in that game? Especially Neptune. Neptune was great in Nep1, but in Mk2 her voice went all high-pitched and girly and everything. She just wasn't the same at all. I don't know whether it's the voice actors themselves who made the changes or the director telling them to match the Japanese voices or what. But please let me say, that I much prefered Nep1's acting direction.

If you plan to localize V, then please, whoever is responsible for the acting, let the VAs return to how they voiced the characters in Nep1. Especially Neptune herself.

Oops. I said Arfoire she I meant to say ASIC. How are they evil again? They seem to just be streamlining the CPUs terribly complex beaucracy. Everybody seemed really happy under ASIC's rule, the only ones screwed over were the CPUs themselves.

@LAMV - Might have been a different director...I noticed that sometimes she went back to her first game style of talking, and then swapped back suddenly...

Well, ASIC clearly promoted the absolute freedom to buy games. Remember Brave's scenes with Uni? It was implying that creators didn't need to be paid for the work they did; they should make games only because they like them.

In other words, there's little incentive besides personal interest to make games... which, I might add, are suggested to be a major component of Gamindustri's society. With nobody getting paid for games, it seems like a whole lot of the workforce would be unemployed, thus annihilating Gamindustri's economy and potentially eliminating the actual game industry in favor of something less... focused.

So, yeah. ASIC = Bad.

But people seemed happy under them. Economics is a weird thing, there's always workarounds, some cleaner than others.

It's not so much the piracy that I'm complaining about, but the CPUs seem to be against even something as modding games or hacking save data. That's going too far in the other direction. If you've paid for a game, you should be able to do whatever the fuck you want with it.

My problem is that they paint it as a total Black and White situation when it's not. Both the CPUs and ASIC have their pros and cons, and whichever is better overall depends largely on perspective. None of that is worked into the narrative though, it's all "WE'RE CPUs AND THUS WE ARE GOOD AND THEY ARE FILTHY UNGRATEFUL PIRATES AND THEREFORE ARE BAD, LET US BEAT THEM UP".

Also minor point, but if I had to choose the protection of a bunch of moe girls or giant killer robots, I'm going with the giant killer robots.
