How is it? And how emotional was it? Compared to say, the KEY anime?

Also, regarding the July Noitamina rerun:

Were the new op and ed ever released? As a single or even an updated anime release? I heard the new op was used for the movie as well.

It's a tearjerker, but it's a really hammy tearjerker.

Overall good series.
I never got my avatars.
Still holding my breath for the other Marl Kingdom games.

I absolutely loved it and would definitely recommend it.

I found myself deeply invested in the characters and their relationships with each other. I won't reveal much else so as not to spoil anything for you, but these characters being as flawed as they are, was what made this series for me. The last couple of episodes really got the water works going for me for a multitude of reasons.

The end result has quite the emotional impact and if it succeeds in making you cry a river like it did with me and I know many others, it has achieved its goal.
