Which is of course why they made a sequel and localised it which is said to be better than the original. :|
I won't deny Hyperdimension Neptunia has its problems, but the writing's good, and to be honest, that's all I was there for. :D
It's also not the worst game I've played, not by a long shot.
Besides, if you don't like, don't buy it. No-one's forcing you to do so.

I'm also pretty sure it's been stated NISA weren't happy with how AT2 turned out, but I can't go much into details seeing as I've never played it and would be mostly speaking from a position of ignorance.

Regardless, I'm pretty sure you've aired your grievances about this before, and it's not like anything can change now. :|

Oh, believe me. The decision to platinum HN and find out just how bad it was, was predicated by the fact that I would not be buying an IF/CH game ever again.

And the amount of effort it would take to make a game WORSE than HN is counterproductive to IF/CH's entire philosophy. I don't doubt that it's "better", but unless the phrase "legal age" ever appeared anywhere in the design document I imagine it will be just as uncomfortable to play. Just with (potentially) slightly less torturous gameplay.

I have not seen any acknowledgment of AT2's issues from anyone at NISA. If it exists, I would like to be shown!

Although I honestly find the concept of spending more time than necessary to complete something (this is aside from completing it to begin with) to 100% when you really don't like it rather counter-productive. It's somethign I would never do at least, there's plenty of other things I could be doing with my time which would be more enjoyable.

I really don't understand why people keep trying to get NISA to knowledge that they messed up on AT2 . It doesn't change anything if they do admit to it,and the majority probably don't even care anymore given how much time has passed.

Nationally, 13, though individual prefectures may have it set higher. *Shrugs* Places in America may have it as low as 16.

I'm reading posts but all I see is walls of text with steam coming out of it. Calm down bro, seriously.

I'm pretty sure *all* prefectures have it at least as high as 16, if not higher.

Not that it matters; other than Arfoire, only Green Heart (maaaaaaaybe Black Heart) can pass for 16 anyway. I'd believe 12 for the main cast.

Somehow I doubt it.

Mostly because once everybody has forgotten about it, they'll go ahead and do it again. I want to hear "we aren't going to let our QA staff come to work hammered out of their God damn minds anymore" (and/or "we aren't going to let the people who are supposed to listen to the QA staff come to work hammered out of their God damn minds anymore") and to start, there needs to be acknowledgment that there was a problem in the first place. I expect mistakes to be owned up to, though I prefer they also be addressed and corrected.

I will admit to underestimating the time to platinum, and then fell into the trap of "well I've come this far". Plus, I wanted to see the whole thing. I know there's nothing worse than someone talking crap about a game, being asked how far they got, and then saying "a few hours". I can describe the entire game's failure, from the early stages where you have literally no control over healing and live or die on coin flips, to the unbelievable share manipulation process to get the other characters (and pad the hell out of the game). The final boss's second form (spoilers: the final boss has a second form) doesn't even have a shadow portrait. Though, one of Neptunia's many faults is that any given hour is the same as any other hour. The dungeons might as well all be the same, the enemies don't change to any appreciable degree, there's nothing to do in battle other than spam Neptune Break, and you don't get to change your party until the last 5% of the game.

I never had a problem with early battles, and you can adjust the healing skills and things by accessing the menu mid-battle, (fiddly I know, but it's still doable). You also only need the extra characters to get the true ending, and this is practically a piece of cake compared to their previous games' requirements, so it's a step in the right direction. It's also fairly quick to do once you work out the entire shares system and find a dungeon you can clear in a couple of minutes.
You also only really need to 'change' the party when you have more characters than slots, which only happens if you bought any of the DLC characters, as otherwise they're just part of the whole 'switching' mechanic, so really, you can bring six people into battle at once, not that you get to abuse much you grabbed any of the DLC...

Although at least you can clear random encounters with speed, they're really just speed bumps anyway, seeing as even without Neptune Break you can usually kill most if not everything in a single turn.

I'm not even going to try to assign exact 'visual' ages to characters. *Shakes head* People have too many different interpretations of art, and it's not a very good standard for judging things from, since it's excessively subjective. I don't think it's right to judge things based on the extreme lowest interpretation, either. You are, of course, free to state why you may not like part or all of a particular game.

Well good luck getting a acknowledgement out of them now as accusing their QA team of being hammered during the localization of AT2 is quite childish really.....The way i see it is even if they do admit to making mistakes with AT2 there is still a possibility that they can screw up on a future game .

Someone looked at a game-ending bug, untranslated text and frequent grammatical errors and said "sure, this is good". Was it alcohol? Was it gross incompetence? I can only guess until I'm told! Somebody either couldn't find these glaring issues, or ignored them outright. This blatant lack of respect for the consumer came from somewhere, and we need to know it isn't going to happen again. Or at least I do; I dunno about the rest of you.

You can never 'ensure' these things will never happen again, but considering how many games they've released since then which have been fine, it's pretty safe to say it was a one-off.

This forum is for offering constructive, useful feedback. Not for complaining and demanding answers for a game released over three years ago (and accusing our staff of coming to work drunk).

If you decide to make a similar thread in the future, please try to do so with a little restraint and common courtesy.
