When I beat him I had 10K DEF, it pretty much trivialized the fight. Any damage dealt was easily healed back with items.

Well for me on the chapter 10 boss fight I guess I obsessed too much on playing in the martial dungeon. I had no problems working my way down to the 10th floor, and then when I reached the bottom I summoned my boss-kill set of gear from divine summon and proceeded to mercilessly maim and destroy. :lol:

Wow, I've had that happen to me before but not when first entering. No they decided to get my hopes up for a successful run then kill me on around floor 44ish.

You should be able to develop a sense of when you can kill strong enemies and when you can't. XD Unless you're absolutely dominating and overpowered, though, it's probably best to avoid the boss types...

Well, I think I have just learned how much strengthening equipment can help. Increasing my items a bit (by like +5 or whatever seems good enough). Still haven't finished Chapter 10, but i'm thinking I could make everything a lot easier with some better equipment. I was surprised by how much it made a difference in the Martial Arts dungeon :lol: .

Yeah, with the ever-increasing bonus to stats you receive as you fill out your divinigram, having leveled equipment with increased bonus to your stats percentage based is really the way to go.

I need to either try to do well in intermediate dungeon (like 80+) or unlock the advanced dungeon to try to get the equipment divine artifacts (L) so I can reach ZHP levels of absurdity again.

Finally finished Chapter 10. It was actually a bit anti-climatic compared to my first few tries. I ended up defeating the boss in one hit after entering God mode. I even had a ton of items in my inventory to make sure I was prepared for the fight (Apple's of Eden, Mega Steak, Revive Gem, Exit, stuff like that) :lol: .
Anyway though, I really enjoyed the story and it's a great game, but I think it'll be a while until I tackle New Game+ and all of it's content.

Not too sure why, but I feel like I would be more motivated to continue if it wasn't for the story starting all over again, but with an ending like that, it makes sense after all.

Some dumb(?) questions.

What is JSFPS mean? Apparently not JapaneSe First Person Shooter. (Has Japan even TRIED breaking into the FPS market yet?)

Next question, mostly for Rednal: what do you mean when you keep saying "o wo?" I keep reading it, "oh, woah" and my neurons keep calling me a jackass for it.


And to stay on topic moar, I really love this game and how it brought an ancient RPG subgenre that I never even knew existed to light. I hope if they ever do another roguelike, though, they can figure how to make success based more on the random dungeon loot and some player skills and less getting perfect gear setups and stored levels.

If they changed all these things I guess it wouldn't be a spiritual successor to ZHP nor would it be NIS-style grinding, so I see how it might not even be feasible.

I guess I just am looking for a good RPG that puts me in a dungeon and keeps me there for a few days. Demon Gaze I'm going to be counting on you!
