PS Vita TV Compatibility Question

Postby アクターレ » Mon Nov 25, 2013 10:45 am

According to Sony' official page, the Dangan Ronpa 1+2 pack will work on PS Vita TV.

http://www.jp.playstation.com/software/ ... 05027.html

I would like to know if the US version of Dangan Ronpa 1 will still have this compatibility, or if it is going to be removed.

Their response to my asking the same question.

But don't assume that it will be a yes, because it turns out that the Vita TV won't even run games if they're not on the list, so it's not just a matter of "yeah, you could run it, but good luck playing it with those controls..."

I'm really curious as if this will affect games that aren't being repackaged the Dangan Ronpa is.

Going to be honest, if the English versions of the Neptune vita games don't work, I'll be importing. I find rediculous for them not to work if all they have to do is be added to a white list, especially when the Japanese versions do work.

But I'll give NIS the benefit of the doubt that their versions will work.

Not trying to cause a fuss or nothin, but is the inability to play a Vita game on the TV a big deal? Curious is all.

In my case, I tend to use my handhelds the most at work, where I have a lot of downtime - but very intermittent downtime, so I have to keep putting it down and picking it up again. My DS ends up winning out over my PSP by a significant margin because closing the lid is just that much quicker than turning the PSP on and off. Plus the PSP tends to have more games that you want to be able to listen to while playing (Dangan Ronpa, Corpse Party) which often isn't feasible for me. ("What the hell is that sound?" "Oh, it's a little girl swallowing a pair of scissors," etc.)

Also, since I'd be buying the Vita specifically for this, the VTV being cheaper is another incentive.

Well in the case of a PSP there is the component cable accessory. And seemingly a way to route your Vita to a PC to a TV.

Depends on personal preference.

I personally own a Vita TV, so I would like to be able to actually play games on it.

No offense to NIS America or anything, but I'm not going to purchase games from them if their versions strip out what I consider to be a major feature, even if it is beyond their control.

I'm just trying to point out that there are people outside Japan that own Vita TVs and we do want some support for it.

I'm not asking that NIS America ADD compatibility to anything, I just want it retained if the Japanese version of a new game includes it.

I see. Well I don't think NISA has any sorta say if the Vita Tv capability is removed. So if this games JPN version has VTV function, the localized version might. Dunno.

Hong Kong Chinese/Japanese subtitled version confirmed to be compatible with Vita TV.

Any updates on the US version being compatible? Instant pre-order from me if so.

EDIT:

Just tried it out. Game doesn't work.

Sorry NISA, looks like this is the last Vita game I buy from you until you fix this.

Absolutely no excuse for this not working when the Japanese and Chinese versions work, and many US versions of other games work.

Guys this is seriously. The reason I'm buying this games it's because I'll be able to play the games on TV. Now with the Playstation TV coming in December I really hope this work. I already bought the first game and don't even play it because I was waiting for this and I really don't know if I'll be able to stand so much disappointment in my life.

Dangan Ronpa doesn't work on the Vita TV?

That stinks. I was hoping that DSP would make playthrough's of DR1 and 2.
I am a huge fan of DSP, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, Dangan Ronpa, Persona, and many other things.

From what I remember hearing, NIS America is going to be some of the first few developers (including ATLUS) to use PS TV. This would mean some kind of compatibility patch for Danganronpa.

Don't actually quote me on this stuff though; do more research, because I think I heard something about a beta... That would be referencing the open beta for Playstaion Now instead...

I think.

I'm trying to imagine what that would be like.

He'd probably stop and reset the game over and over trying to keep characters from dying.
