I beat that area after some difficulty. The laser big bad was the major reason for death in that stage.

As things are now, I should be able to beat the game when I decide to play again though.

The Praetorian was really easy for me. Just shoot with my Widow rifle, and use the Tactical Cloak when he got too near. When we was at about half HP, I just used the nuke and obliterated its HP. My main problem was that damned first fight. As an Infiltrator it sucks, and my AI teammates were being so dumb most of the time.

You have no right to complain about friendly AI being bad, as I'm replaying the first game at the moment.
Man it's so bad compared to the sequel.

I had heard about the first game being much worse, but I played the PC version. I was pleasantly surprised. Although, it did seem much harder than the second game at times.

Yeah, mostly it's been AI bugs to be honest, as I'm on the PC as well, they do things like stare at walls at enemies they can't see but are close to put them into a hostile stance.
Amusingly, I'm on my fourth playthrough and I'm still finding new things, even in stuff like the combat.

ME2 is going pretty well, actually. Managed to pass the Collector Ship with relative ease after the first battle. I acquired the Reaper IFF, and I've got Tali's and Legion's loyalty missions left to do. I'm mad because I lost Miranda's loyalty because I didn't have enough Paragon to solve the issue between her and Jack. I still don't. I'm afraid the same thing might happen with Tali and Legion once their argument happens. If I end up having to progress the story at this point, I might end up losing two of my teammates in the final mission.

The world size seemed pretty large in the first game when compared to the second (the the sequel first), but I guess it's because they streamlined the first. So, the second game seemed smaller, yet the overall quality was higher.
One thing about the first is that everyone seemed to be talking about how much worse the graphics were on it, but I really didn't think so...

Miranda and Jack (Legion and Tali as well) have an argument after you do both of their loyalty missions, I believe. If you don't have enough Paragon (or Renegade, I wouldn't know), then whoever you side with in the argument will remain loyal while the one who you don't pick stops being loyal. If this happens, I think if you gain a higher P/R score, you'll be able to convince them to become loyal again. My problem is that it isn't because it is such a high requirement for it to happen.

It's not that bad, actually. I didn't have too much trouble with it (but that's because I was an Infiltrator). My biggest problem was the first fight of the Collector ship. As for the rest of the game, it was okay. A few deaths here and there, but nothing that's too hard. I'm just so pissed that I don't have Miranda's loyalty anymore and I can't really get it back. I'll have to figure something out...
