It has Japanese VA and English subs, FWIW.

Hardly surprising considering what they've always done.
It's a Nintendo game, therefore they're going to keep miles away from anything that might cause some controversy with, for lack of a better term, 'family-orientated' groups.

Huh, maybe I'm just late to the bandwagon but...

Tokyo Mirage Sessions
TMS
SMT

The initialism of the new name, minus the "#FE" part, is the reverse of the initialism for "Shin Megami Tensei".

So essentially, the new name still refers to the "SMT x FE" namesake but is just twisted around to be called something else. Can't tell if that's clever or stupid due to how odd sounding the new name is.

I like it.
After all, they had to somehow translate that title into something comprehensible.

Still think the sharp is incredibly silly though. Does not make it easy to say. At least the first part will suffice.

Though it's been said wrong (when spoken, you're supposed to say "sharp" after whatever it's attached to), it's fitting for the game, since it's a music term.

I forgot mention it's fitting, but it's still silly to say.

Personally, the only silliness I find is that its differences with FE can be measured in octaves rather than just a half step, but I have a feeling that won't be the part most people use when referring to it anyway.

Doesn't really work for text though.
At least # is a readily-available key.

Which is really dumb considering they published Bayonetta without any cause for concern. Nintendo needs to wake up and realize they can cater to adults and children alike. They don't need to dumb down every game to be kid friendly when the target audience isn't kids. It's getting completely ridiculous. Deliberately censoring cleavage from what's likely to be a T rated game is just plain idiotic. Newsflash Nintendo, American teens and young adults show off cleavage, it's not something you need to censor.

Nintendo weren't principal developers on Bayonetta, and it was always going to be an M (or equivalent), and they don't seem to touch those.
Anything rated lower than that, they seem to be super-cagey about their public image about.
Platinum were the ones being conservative with the Nintendo-themed costumes in fact, Nintendo people were the ones who pushed them out of that.

(Although Nintendo pretend Devil's Third doesn't exist, I think everyone is okay with that).

They weren't the developers but they did pay for it. Regarding M being immune, Fatal Frame 5 was M, it got censored. So M is definitely not immune to the Nintendo censorship brigade. You'd think it should be since it's clearly a game intended for mature users, but nah, Nintendo still feels the need to play parent.

Thought they might be one I missed, which is why I didn't say they do it all the time.
Although out of the evidence we have, M-rated games are mostly left alone, although they're usually not the developers on them.

Paying for something and actually heavily being involved with development are actually quite different things. They pretty much just let them do their thing.

I probably should have saved the pictures which I am now having a hard time finding, but they censored a level of cleavage that would have been acceptable on a Wal-Mart clerk AFTER pulling the "She's 18 guys, honest" card.

It's beyond absurd.

Nintendo being heavily involved! One of their series is in the title!
It's not a surprise by this point.

Having said that, electing to not buy the game because of it, like many sudden voices cried out about, maybe overreacting if you were looking forward to it otherwise.
