I wouldn't recommend getting two Vitas right now. I can barely recommend one, since there are only a few (great) titles available right now.

Eh fuck it, I bought one today along with 3 games, the rather pointless but nice looking charge cradle, rather nice carrying case and a 32GB memory stick/chip. Now everything else feels inadequate in hands.

The games were Hot Shots, WipEout 2048 and BlazBlue Extend. Damn does BlazBlue look gorgeous in motion. I also bought a $50 PSN card for a 2 or 3 games I've had my eyes on. Its to bad that I don't have my router right now though~

Get Super Stardust Delta. The other games are optional, but Super Stardust Delta isn't.

I think Escape Plan is a very excellent "tech demo"-type game for the Vita, good for showing people the various input options.

The biggest problem is how they try to push a few commands, and how unprecise they can be.

I was thinking of getting Corpse party and some other game I've had my eyes on for a while. But I'll take your advice and pick up a $20 card tomorrow and get that too.

Meh, I didn't really have any problems with the commands except the ones involving sheep, but indirect control is usually pretty imprecise so I didn't really think much of it.

Sony is sweetening the deal on its ¥2,000 PlayStation Vita discount campaign. A retailer is reporting that the campaign, which was originally scheduled to end at the end of March has been extended. Additionally, Sony will be throwing in a free 4 gigabyte memory card.

The fine print remains the same. The deal applies only to those who buy a 3G model and at least one game. Meet these conditions, and you'll get ¥2,000 off and a free 4 Gig card at point of sale.

Sony never made official announcement of the original ¥2,000 promotion, but it was put in place at numerous retailers large and small.

Hi, everyone. The next PS Vita System Software Update (v1.65) will be released soon and will include the following minor enhancements:

- A “Notification Alert” option will be added to Settings, so you can toggle alerts on or off
- “After 10 minutes” will be added to the time options under Power Save Settings
- An Arrow icon will now appear when PS Vita finds new activities in the LiveArea
- Caps Lock will be supported in the On Screen Keyboard

Don’t forget: there are several ways to update the firmware on your PS Vita:

Select “System Update” under the “Settings” menu and download the firmware directly to your PS Vita over Wi-Fi.

Connect your PS Vita to a PS3 or a PC/Mac and update via Content Manager.

On a different note, I was doing unboxing pics for my Vita with the 3ds for kicks. I gave up part way through since the camera on the 3ds is so terrible.

It's not just videogames that get shipped in a broken state. Sony's latest PS Vita firmware update -- we're already up to 1.65 -- has had to be yanked from circulation after causing bugs on systems. The update was set to bring "minor enhancements," but brought a bit more than that.

One Destructoid reader, Frank, downloaded the update and found that it broke his Vita's ability to connect to the PS3 for ad hoc parties. The lobbies all went quiet as regular Vita users found themselves locked out of the feature.

"PS Vita system software update 1.65 has been taken down temporarily due to a technical fault," explained Sony on its blog. "For any customers who may have already downloaded the firmware, they can continue as normal. We will notify you once the latest system software update is available to download again."

I got my Vita today. Downloaded the demo for Uncharted...and ....well, ugh...I hate the controls for it. : /
Don't think I'll be buying any games soon for this thing unless there is a demo that I like.
