I wonder if Mary Elizabeth McGlynn will be singing any songs in this, the song You're Not Here from SH3 is freaking sweet.

I had a "Heavy Rain" feeling when I saw that girl in Kotaku's link.

It kind of reminds me of Alan Wake :p But technically it IS the original 'scary game in a fog setting'. I own them all but Shattered Memories for PS2 (which I will get some day). However, I have not played any^^ Aren't I a terrible collector? I heard Homecoming was meh though...

Shattered Memories is the only Silent Hill which really makes no effort at all to scare you >_< Which is why I really didn't like that game. It had some neat gameplay concepts, but I wanted it to try and scare me, which it completely avoided. Homecoming's pretty fun so far that I've played it. The Room is definitely the most scary one. And I found 3 to be the best one for me. Most will say either 1 or 2 are the best though. It's a really great game series, you really should play some of them.

Imo, Silent Hill has really gone downhill since 3. It's less psychological horror and more standard jump scares in a haunted town. 2 was my favorite. It's difficult to match that sense of dread from when you descend into the giant hole underneath the Historical Society. That elevator ride felt like it was two minutes long.

I read about this in a GameInformer. I've never played a Silent Hill game but this one looks good. I'm keeping my eye on it.

Silent Hill is one of the creepiest games I have ever played. I agree that they just started losing touch with the series as they progressed. What was up with shattered memories? That was a horrible remake.

1 and 2 were good, some of the later ones... not so much (looking at you, homecoming).
At least we still have Siren :D

I hope this new one is a bit better :V

SOMEONE ELSE who likes Siren!?

I thought I was the only person...

I liked 4, not sure why it gets so much hate. But, yeah, the series started going down a slippery path starting with that game. And , Shattered Memories....that was basically more of a CYOA game than a Silent hill. Which could be fun, but it having the Silent Hill name really ruined it for me...

I honestly don't think that game could have been fun if it had a different name attached and took out some of the iconic silent hill things to make it as such. The only thing that was interesting was the doctor's office where your questions influenced the game. But having to run away from the monsters on a set path just made it drab. Sure it had it's freak out moments, but I couldn't even finish the game.
