Very atmospheric! Can already sense the psychological aspects with that stairs trick! :) Definitely shaping up to be the best SH since SH1-3!!!!

Started playing today, the only complaints I have so far is the battle system is kind of clunky and the game sometimes gets choppy and freezes when you're moving the camera around.

This game is soooo boring...and a clunky combat system? Really? What happened to the PS2 era of quality Silent Hill games?

Haven't different people been working on the last couple games?

Clunky Combat system...

Sounds like the PS2 era actually :lol:

I can't speak for the boring part, since I haven't played it. Iv'e been told it's fairly good, but kinda feels like an Alan Wake ripoff.

Yes:

Homecoming = Double Helix Studios
Shattered Memories = Climax Studios
Silent Hill PS2 titles = Konami Internal Studios
Silent Hill Origins = Climax Studios(?)
Downpour = Vatra

Everything after Silent Hill 4 was produced by teams other than "Team Silent" (aka internal Konami team(s)).

Edit*

@Vamp

This system is leagues worse than the PS2 games...sadly...

I'm still hoping for the pacing to pick up in this game...but I'm not getting my hopes up...:(

It's because they're outsourcing it T_T

Japan needs to make Japanese horror.

I been playing it for awhile now, and IDK if I just got used to it or what but the battle system doesn't bother me as much as it did when I first started to play still not as fluid as it could be but yea.

The story and the characters are definitely the strongest parts of the game, the puzzles are what you expect from a SH game and with the side quests and just general exploring you have more freedom than any of the previous games.

Just beat it with 3 out of the 6 endings, gonna start my second play through for two more endings then a third for the final endings and the platinum trophy. Anyways good stuff if it weren't for the minor bugs and glitches and the clunky battle system, I'd give the game a 8/8.5 but counting those things it goes down to a 7.5.
