The preorder costumes just upped your stats a bit instead of giving you abilities.

Not sure if you can get them in game but the DLC Costume Titles give you artes and some mystic artes, I know it gives Sophie a Lv2 Mystic Arte.

I was mostly concerned about the pre-order costumes as I'll never be able to get a hold of them. I've already purchased some of the DLC costumes that appeared in the PS Store. Thanks for the answers.

A'ight guys, I need your help a bit. Do characters gain EXP and SP even when they're not in the party? Say your party only consists of Asbel and Malik at the moment. The inn has requests, you fulfill them, and you gain a lot of SP as a reward. Would every playable character earn that SP or would only Asbel and Malik earn that SP? This is important because if it's the latter, that means I have to hold out on doing inn requests until there are more members in the party.

They gain it at a reduced rate. I don't know what the rate is, but you can increase it via titles.
