Doesn't change the fact that they're first party.

Also, Sly 4 isn't being developed by the original creators.

Hence mostly.

Though first-party-developed game exist, and that's an important distinction.

Suddenly I've lost some confidence in the game.

It still might be a great game. We'll have to wait and see, I guess.

Supposedly the guys making Sly 4 are HUGE Sly fans and it was their idea to make the game and they got Sucker Punch's blessing.

That doesn't guarantee it will be good, but at least it wasn't farmed out to some random studio because Sony wanted to make a quick buck (see: Jak & Daxter: The Lost Frontier)

Never played that, but judging from your tone, it was pretty bad. xD

This, plus, it seems that Sony has enough faith in it to use his Sly 4 model for PSASBR, instead of his Sly 3 one...even though what we've seen of his moveset was his sly 2/3 moveset

For anyone who cares

http://www.sanzaru.com/wp/

That's the developer.

I'm somewhat concerned with them because they did a rather shoddy job with the PS2 port of Secret Agent Clank. I played the PSP version but a friend of mine (an R&C fan) didn't have a PSP and he got the PS2 port and when we compared notes it seemed like they dropped a bunch of stuff that was in the PSP game. Granted they were largely cosmetic little tidbits but still.

Plus, while they are fans, they don't really have much experience with development platformers short of porting Secret Agent Clank and the Sly Collection.

That being said, the screens I've seen look good and the concept looks kinda neat. I'm trying to keep an open mind cause I really enjoyed the PS2 Sly game but I also know what happened to the Spyro games after Insomniac handed the development reigns to someone else.

It was... interesting. But it certainly was no Jak and Daxter game.

You had an airplane and you could customize it with different weapons and parts and you used it to battle enemy airships. It was an interesting idea, but it wasn't that great of a game and it definitely wasn't what Jak and Daxter fans were expecting.

Sly 4 gets a 2/05/13 release date and buying the PS3 version nets gamers a voucher for a digital download of Sly 4 for their Vitas.

Yup...which is why, just like with PS All Stars, the ps3 version is the better deal

Man, I hope this current market strategy really helps push Vita hardware sales...otherwise Sony is just killing the Vita...

As do I...luckily, it seems that it's only happening with Sony 1st party titles, and not the 3rd party stuff, or else the Vita really wouldn't sell

I kinda wish Sony would just focus on doing more new IP's or sequels on the Vita instead of all this cross-play stuff... :?

We got Gravity Rush recently, and we'll be getting Soul Sacrifice next year. I guess we can count Uncharted: Golden Abyss as well...
