Yakuza 5 finally has playable female character!! Haruka

Dead Souls is pretty good, but it's a goofy spin-off and probably isn't the best place to start if you're new to Yakuza. The controls are a bit... awkward. But once you get used to them and get some decent guns, it's really fun. Co-op is sorely missing from the game, though.

4 is actually a really good place to start because not only does it have the scenes from the previous games, but also 3 out of the 4 main characters are new to the series.

When you get some money in the game, make sure you check out the various hostess clubs. Talking to the hostesses and taking them on dates is surprisingly a lot of fun. It's a good way to wind down if you get tired of beating up thugs

Will it be the opposite when you play Haruka...or can you go after Hostesses too? :p though I doubt Sega would be crazy enough to do that..CH would though.

Yeah, the arcade is cool too. I made the top 50 on the leaderboards for one of the shmups in Dead Souls, but it's been a while since I played so I might have lost my spot.

There's a lot more to do than just the hostess clubs and arcades, too. There's also the batting cages, bowling, ping pong, mahjong, the casino games, karaoke, golf, karate dojo, fishing, massages, hostess maker, ect. It's insane how much activities there are to do. I get so sidetracked with all the extra content that it took me over 100 hours to finish my first playthrough of Yakuza 4

I wonder if Haruka will have random idol battles?

Like you have to randomly satisfy a crowd or something? Just cause of the way it's worded it makes it seem like there'll still be random 'encounters' of some sort

That's actually a pretty good idea! You could have random events where you have sing a song, sign an autograph, take a photo with a fan, ect.
