if I recall, both Bat and Rin used crossbows, but they might of used some other things like melee weapons and/or grenades. Neither of them learned martial arts, so Bat might of used a bit of hand to hand combat but not much, and Rin always carried a weapon unless she got caught (yes sadly she was treated like Yuria most of the time.)

Well this video is cool reference of the previous signature moves.

Wonder what the new signature moves will be like. :D

Bat and Rin are important in the story, but mainly as support characters that rarely fight.

I don't recall if Rin killed or attacked anyone, but she did wield a crossbow, so she might become playable, though she is still kind of like Yuria, so she might be too pure hearted for them to make a moveset for her, but it would still be cool. There were more innocent women in Koei games (like the Qiaos in Dynasty Warriors), fighting guys, so Rin has a chance, even though she doesn't have as much weapons and cunning like Mamiya had.

I think Rin did kill someone one of those peons lol
but i cant remember
Darcnova wrote:Yeah, and did Mamiya actually fight in the manga/anime, if she did, that'd make a big difference too...I'm assuming that Bat uses his fists as well?...hmm, so if they wipe out the old cast, who'd be the new Jagi?

One of those shura peons ;)

We'll probably get em either way to be honest...nobody will be interested based on a trailer with scenes from the first game (in English I might add...confirming a high chance of an English release) with one picture of Kaioh heh

it's called a teaser trailer for a reason!!

there have been some major franchises that used flashbacks as teasers, without any footage of the sequel.

It really is a nice teaser really.

The first one is good, but pretty short, in the sense that it took me 42 hours total to 100% it :P

So double the content SHOULD cause it to be 84 hours, which seems like the size of the common Warriors game

I don't know how they would change the graphics to more manga looking without making them look less detailed, flat and basically Wind Waker looking. Well okay that is an exaggeration but there was nothing wrong with Ken's Rage 1 graphics. If anything, the characters never looked better in 3-D.

maybe that article was a misinterpretation, because elsewhere I read the story cutscenes will use Manga like scenes similiear to One Piece pirate warriors. That doesn't mean the gameplay graphics would change.

Japanese title is Shin Hokuto Musou
(Cue number discrepancy just like Shin Sangoku Musou to Dynasty Warriors if they still use Ken's Rage 2 for overseas title)
Consoles: PlayStation 3, Xbox 360
Release Date: December 2012 (JP)

Known Appearing Characters
Those marked with * have a high chance of being confirmed playable
Juza*
Bat (Adult*) - is made to be not too strong
Rin (Adult*) - have throwing projectiles like Mamiya
Ein*
Falco*
Shachi*
Hyoh*
Kaioh*

Colonel
Devil Rebirth

Known Informations
Emperor & Shura arcs are added
The Raoh arc from first game is also getting more volume, with confirmed visual of Colonel & Devil Rebirth
The reason why they use Shin (Real) instead of 2 (for JP title) is because they're also including parts that were omitted from the first game
Overall story could be ending at vs. Kaioh fight
Systems are being changed to better represent the original setting, including gameplay & growth
Illusion/Dream mode is confirmed back
There will be more online features
Story is said to have events that use game models in manga-like cutscenes (similar to One Piece)
The game will be more Warriors-like; movements are to be made more light
There will be more character moveset types

Pictures will probably appear tommorrow. :D

I'm assuming that by manga like, they meant sorta like cel-shaded, but not exactly...maybe like the JoJo game coming out soon? Who knows

So I get to play through the Raoh arc again...yay!
