Actually, the game was made by Compile Heart. The same company behind "Mugen Souls" and "Neptunia".

This.

And it gets serious about half way in (with side events being comedy focused)

Shockingly (no, really - this is Compile Heart we're talking about), there is character development in this game. Don't judge the tone of the whole game by the early hours.

This is why I'm still playing it despite finding it fairly uninteresting so far. I've played enough games to know to never judge them so close early.

I'm just hoping the later stuff clicks with me far more than the beginning stuff has been so far. I don't know why it's like that with me either, I tend to get into a lot of games quite easily.

Yeah, it surprised me. Sure, I enjoyed it from the very start, but it does get nice. I will say that it is still pretty cliche, but that ain't necessarily bad...it's still CH.

i was only a little upset about that because they already made so many none serious game in the past

a game more like final fantasy for once would be nice if anything tough recently the ff franchise started to make their game too complicated for no reason or at less its my opinion of it maybe im wrong too

and who ever say that the neptunia serie was easy has probly never played the first opus of the game hardess rpg i ever played since the psone got out or maybe even with ff8 since this one was seriously hardcore too

but im enjoing all the game fencer is no exception even with what i dont like its part of the game i guess

is anyone reminded of ff7 when playing fencer because it make me kinda remember the shinra of ff7 whit the durfa* (i dont remember the name just yet) but i guess it would anyway

This game is freakishly easy, but it's still enjoyable...I might plat it if I'm in the mood to go back to it after Ar NoSurge.

My game arrived at customs today. Hopefully it won't be much longer until I get to play it.
Which reminds me I still have to finish Dragon Age 2 before Inquisition's out.

Main reasons I want to play this game are Harley, Tiara and the cat guy Pipin.

Spoiler:
There are 3 endings to my knowledge:

A normal ending.
A Tiara ending.
An Eryn ending.

Save Tiara, Fang and Alyn, none of the character get that much depth, sadly.

Is Fang's depth limited to "I have to protect those I care about" and "I have to care about other people at the expense of food and sleep" or is there actually anything worthy of note?

From my point in the story (I have not played since my first romp :(), him going from where he is to what you're describing actually would be a significant change.

I still love him all the same.

... How is it that, every time I set up abysmally low expectations for a Compile Heart game, they go even lower still?
