Aselia the Eternal - A Defining VN-SRPG - Gets Released!

This looks like quite an awesome game! I totally feel you Magus in your search for the perfect VN/RPG hybrid. The only problem here is that I'm not big on PC games. And by not big I mean I don't play them.

Depending on the cost of the game I might consider it. Too bad this couldn't have been ported to the PSP (not that I like portable games anymore than PC games...) or hell, release the PS2 version or something.

I'll keep my eye on this.

J-List has it at $29.95. Which is pretty decent, especially since you might well replay it several times for the different endings and difficulty levels.

Just the thought of using keyboard and mouse to play a game erks me.

cant you pretty much hook up a microsoft 360 controller and play anything

PS3 controllers work for most games, too. you just gotta use a program like MotionJoy.

The current release date estimate is Q2 2011. Since this is JAST we're talking about, that estimate has an error range of +/- 2 years. The translation is basically finished, however. Do note that the Demonbane translation was "basically finished" last summer. Demonbane still isn't out yet.

As for game controller support, this isn't an action RPG or even a typical strategy RPG. It's menu-based, and there's no grid system. Battles are determined by stats, role assignments, and skill assignments. A game controller wouldn't really add to the experience.
