(Not a perfect list since it has issues sorting with filters to exact specifications, but it gives a general idea of what's out there. Most notable is Higurashi.)

Oh, so they released a localization of Higurashi for iPhone too.

Other than that, about 2/3 of that list isn't really relevant to the genre (e.g., different style, iOS version not in English). Still, there's a few surprises of low notoriety that appear to fit.

All in all, the selection of PC English visual novels, both localized and fan translated, dwarfs the handful on the iPhone--and that's unlikely to change in the forseeable future.

Let's keep this discussion focused on Aselia rather than personal collections. I can tolerate some straying from the original topic (e.g., to a general discussion of other visual novels or gameplay hybrids), but discussing personal collections is an entirely different topic that can be discussed elsewhere, like here or here.

So says the person with the Flandre avatar

Anyway, I will refrain from going further off topic about my personal collections, and only meant to name the games in the picture due to some being in Japanese (including Eien no Aseria).

Back on topic, I wish there was more on the official site to speak of (about what is specifically included).

I'm hoping that if it sells well there will also be consideration of the Expansion and/or Seinarukana.

Translation Patch. And I meant for PS2. ^^

I'm really hoping for Seinarukana, though, to continue the story. Considering one of the characters there is of great interest to me. For what's specifcally included in Aselia, though... I think it's just the PC port of the PS2 version? Looked like the censored scenes and so on...

The official site will be updated as the game gets closer to release, if Demonbane is any indication.

Regarding expansions, some clarification is in order (localized version sized and bolded):
What are the versions of Eien no Aselia, and how do they differ?
Eien no Aselia: The original game. Does not contain the expansion routes for Kyouko or Tokimi. Contains 18+ content and an 'evil' route.
Eien no Aselia EXPANSION: An expansion fan disc for the original game that adds the routes for Kyouko and Tokimi.
Eien no Aselia - Kono Daichi no Hate de (PS2 Version): Includes the original game routes and all the routes from the expansion, adds new voice actors and art, adds additional content to flesh out the Minor Spirits, and revises the battle system. Removes all 18+ content.
Eien no Aselia - Kono Daichi no Hate de (PC Version): The same as the PS2 version, only ported back to the PC. It comes with the second game in the Eternity Sword series, in the Sei Naru Kana SPECIAL PACKAGE.
Eien no Aselia DIGEST: The original game turned into a pure visual novel, with all gameplay removed. Only contains the Aselia route. This version was only included with pre-orders of the Supitan fan disc.
Eien no Aselia Special Edition: A special 5000 piece limited edition released in 05/2010 that mixes the original PC version and Kono Daichi no Hate De, essentially re-adding the adult scenes and 'evil route'.

Fandisc sequels:
Spitan Spirits Expedition―in the Phantasmagoria―: A fandisc that follows the minor spirits from Eien no Aselia. Reportedly not as good as the original.

Adapted from: http://dakkodango.com/forums/viewtopic. ... &t=48#p365

I'm not really interested in Spitan. Seinarukana would be very cool though.

magusgs wrote:The primary platform for visual novels is PC. You're going to have to pop that cherry eventually. Don't worry, we'll ease you into it nice and slowly. First, Kira Kira on the iPhone. Then Aselia the Eternal. After realizing how ridiculously awkward it is playing a visual novel on an iPhone, I think you'll be converted. Before long you'll be grinding away at the PC games all by yourself...

It's not like I have a list of visual novels to play. I don't mind playing a few on PC here and there, but I'm likely to bitch that it was never ported to a home console while doing so. :?

Also, I should emphasize they took the gameplay out of one version, and it was STILL a viable visual novel. This in a game that's often lauded for its gameplay. That's quite a balance of gameplay and story they struck.

It would be a little unfair to the Japanese gamers, but I wish they had both the Special Edition and an All-Ages version for preorder

J-List sells newly licensed eroge all the time, too.
