Yet, pretty much any game that is NISA-like, would already have been localized, or will be localized by someone else. Still, V/N's are still a territory that no localization company has treaded onto before.

I say Idolm@ster, because it has quite a bit of potential to do well, considering it captures the audience that already buys their games, and even has a chance of bringing in other people, considering it's a Princess Maker-esque game. That, and that game really is a reason that would get me to buy a console. People may think myself crazy for buying a console for the sheer purpose of Idolm@ster, but I'm sure I'll find some other games that I like on it once I've gotten my Idolm@ster fix ~

That's the thing though, VN are an untapped market on the home console space. They've done moderately well on the handhelds, as well as VN-ish games on the systems such as Agarest War. What I'm interested in finding out is how much of a market there could be.

The iDOLM@STER could do well as you're right that the people who buy into NIS(A)'s games would be the target audience. The only real issue is that the audience who buys into NIS(A)'s games are mostly PS3 owners. So you'd be asking a lot of PS3 owners to buy into a new system for that one game. Sound familiar?

Don't get me wrong though, I'd be estatic for the iDOLM@STER series to get localized and think NISA would do a great job on it. I'd rebuy all of them in a heartbeat and support the cause.

And you're not crazy for buying a system for a game. Final Fantasy X cost me $350 as I bought a PS2 just for that game; Dead or Alive 4 cost me nearly $650 as I bought a launch Xbox 360 for that one game. The benefit of course is the multitude of other games that followed on each system that I've enjoyed.

I really need to get some source of income...

I would buy if they did. I'm kind of tired of seeing all these titles I want to try, go to a more expensive system that I do not, and will NEVER own.

The fanbase that visits this board prefers the PS3 over the 360 more than 7:1. If that's representative at all of the greater NISA fanbase, your argument that porting titles for 360 would increase sales to existing fans is pretty much nullified. Localizing 360 exclusive titles is almost guaranteed to result in lower sales to existing fans. The only advantage to porting to or localizing for the 360 is pulling in *new* fans. As I alluded earlier, shifting your fanbase requires a considerable investment in marketing, and essentially a commitment to that new direction. It's not just something you decide to try out one day to see if it works. Changing direction in the business world almost never reaps short-term benefits. The benefits, if any, would be long-term--and you wouldn't see those from porting or localizing a single 360 game.

This thread is only about NISA doing some 360 exclusive games, not porting games to the 360.

LIke the Idom@ster games, which would be AWESOME for NISA to bring over ;)

I know they can't port....sigh.
I'm just saying, it might be a nice idea.
and the reason both kinect and move are doing well is, the people who bought PS3's over Xbox wanted the add-on, and the people who bought Xbox over PS3 wanted it's add-on.
I've played both and Kinect, microsofts production runs a lot smoother than it's counterpart.
Although Wii came with the idea beforehand, and eyetoy for sony on PS2, even further beforehand.

for graphics I'd definately go sony, but for processing power, I'd have to tilt to microsoft's version.

It's an impossibility right now. So, until NISA gets the ability to program, it'd be best for them and us to not speak of this porting business anymore.

As for Kinect, as I understood it the Move had better tracking?

Either way, I don't have either, I'd really like the move (my 'body' being the controller doesn't feel right. When you hold an object, you hold an object, you don't hold air. But, that's just personal preference), but have no funds for it.

The ratio is even worst when it comes to the Wii.

Also is I remember correctly, the most comfortable controllers made (in a study)
were in this order:
Xbox (360 and original)
Sega Dreamcast
Nintendo 64
Playstations (one, 2, and 3)

and the rest i cant remember.

and I'm NOT saying anyone has a preference of one or another on THIS
board.
It's just data from studies.

Egads, that must have been a biased study :?
how could the original Xbox controller be considered 'comfortable'? It was HUGE, bulky, and all around bad. The 360 one was a huge improvement (still too big for me to comfortably use) though. I don't know how the N64 one could be considered a good one. The gamecube one was MUCH better.

Yeah I agree with Vampko on this one. The original XBox controller was pretty bad. The Nintendo 64 controller was decent but definitely no where near as good as the Gamecube controller. I'm surprised the Dreamcast controller is on there as well. I always thought the Sega Saturn controller was much better.

I'm guessing they might be referring to the Xbox controller-S, the version the was initially released for the Japanese market and later worldwide. That was a nice controller, and the d-pad actually worked. The 360 controller would be perfect if not for the horrid d-pad.

Thankfully Hori put out a nice controller (though it's wired) that has a good d-pad, but it has a slightly different feel to the design.

This. PS2 controller is the same as the dual-stick PS1 (and the PS3 default). It's one of the most comfortable controllers out there.

I agree with what the others have been saying. My personal preference is the Playstation controllers, but it doesn't mean that is everyone's. However I would like a link for this so called study you have there.

My thoughts right here. I have to say, though, Gamecubes had REALLY nice controllers back in the day.

Then Nintendo got all gimmicky and forsake them for those crazy waggly sticks. What do you kids call them?
