NISA School for the Magical Artes (11/24 Tuesday)

Considering the increasingly serious nature of the NISA Saga, I felt that it would be good to start up a more lighthearted RP that everyone can escape to, and also a place for those people whom the NISA Saga is just too serious for.

The Premise :
10,000 years ago the world was born. The birth of the world began with an egg that was placed there by a bored goddess. It thrived on an energy referred to as 'mana'. This 'mana' is the source of all life, and according to the goddess' brother, would only last 10,001 years. 100 years before the end of the world, prominent scientists had discovered this, and had informed certain nobles of the impending doom. These nobles then got together, and in a rare moment of co-operation, put together a school solely dedicated to finding out how to possibly extend the life of their world, and also to teach young people how to better control mana, and conserve it. The school selected the top magicians around the world as instructors, and had a specific exam that had to be passed to be able to enter it.

At first, only young heirs/heiresses would be allowed to attend it. But, as 50 years had passed, and there was still much to be learned, they slowly began to let all demographics in. Also, as they got further along to the end, some of the more astute instructors gave up, and decided to just enjoy their last moments in peace. As such, the recruitment of teachers began to also lax up on its restrictions.

Now, it is a mere 4 years before the end, and an answer has finally been reached. "To extend the life of the world, you must entertain the Goddess." There were two problems, one, no one knew how to contact the goddess, and two, they were clueless what 'entertain' even referred to. They had only been able to figure this out by reverse-engineering an artifact that had been found in a cave, which revealed this exact message.

It is now the start of a new cycle of recruits. Because of the desperation and how close they are to the end, the age limit has been lifted.

Regulations :
1. If you're going to just write a smiley, don't bother posting that. Take a little time to try and think up something more. At least one sentence is all I ask.
2. Nothing too racy/sexual on here. This is a forum that pretty much anyone can come to. I'm not saying keep it super tame, but just keep it like PG 13ish.
3. No godmoding. Reference this if you have any questions about what this is.
4. Try and play nice with each other.
5. On the same vein as the sexual/racy/ecchi stuff, keep the violence from being too graphic.
6. Do not take control of anyone else's character, unless they are an NPC, or you are given permission by the owner.
7. When making a character you choose one magic focus, and cannot excel in more than one.
8. When talking out of character (OOC), please use spoiler tags.
9. There may be more rules made, depending on how things go.

Some stuff that I thought I should let possible new recruits know. This magic 'focus' is not limited to the 'elements'. Something like 'transformation' magic would be perfectly fine as well. And any number of things you could think up.

Technology level is around the early 1950's. The exception would be CD Players.

Calendar system :
Every week IS 7 days, the same names you know. But, there are always 28 days, four weeks, in every month. There are also now 13 months. This also means that the cat zodiac exists ~

The months are named as usual, but the thirteenth month is known as Pyrus

I think we decided on this? I can't really remember for sure, but I'm pretty sure we said the school was set in Scotland. So we'll keep it like that till one of the original members can remember what it was properly.
