Toradora Portable

In case some of you haven't seen it or forgot about it, I'm still drumming up interest for it in the Game Requests section.

I'm new to the NIS forums, but I replied in the thread. ^_^

I'd LOVE to see an English releases, but I think the DVDs might have to sell really well for NIS to do this.

I am very curios as to how many pre-orders NIS has sold already, through Rosenqueen at least. Does NIS typically releases sales figures for their DVD releases? This will be my first DVD I've ever gotten from NIS.

This is their first DVD release, so no one really knows how they're going to handle it. It would be interesting to know the numbers, though.

But yeah, I think Toradora Portable banks entirely on the sales for both Toradora and Disgaea Infinite. It wouldn't be possible to make a sound business decision without gauging the success of both. Hoping for the best.

I think it's just in the marketing. If NIS does a better job promoting their DVDs, sales could be strong. I mean, the die-hard fans will always seek out the information or have certain sources to get great, breaking news from. (like a particular radio station I listen to online from the West Coast that I won't name because I don't know if I'd break the rules. lol)

I mean I'm not sure yet just how "limited" the Japanese collectors package was, but...it's seriously going for between $400 and $500, new in box only a year after it's release! What's sad is, I'm almost certain if I snag it for $500, and team it up with the DVD releases from NIS...I could sell the combined set for probably about $1,000 if I toss in a baseline PSP3000 in the deal, at next year's Megacon in Orlando.

Collector's items go really high if they're limited or nicely packaged.

The GameS***s around Central Florida (sorry, no GameT**s out this way) sell out very quickly of the "limited edition" PSP games. For example when I picked up the special edition Lunar for my PSP, they only had the pre-orders available, and when I picked mine up, there were people inside asking about getting it but being told that location was sold out of them.

If there was an English version of this game, with the same level of collectibles in the Japanese version...I'd budget out at least $100 to buy it. Then again, I'm a collector who uses online auction sites to buy and sell off things. So, I don't think of it from the perspective of someone who doesn't care about anything but the UMD. lol

Yes, and having played the game I can tell you...I love the animation. It's not flat and boring when you're in conversations. There's movement and emotions. Also, the full voice dialog kicks ass, a feature they should definitely keep when they dub the series.

Here's a link to a site that has some videos and screenshots from the game: http://pornoak.exteen.com/20090426/toradora-portable-video-gameplay-psp

Oh yeah, I remembered something today. If you guys are bored, you can go post in this thread, too:

Also, if you're even more bored, someone can make a thread for whatever this is:

It is the perfect and accurate device as all time. The reason is that its feasibility and portability which increase the efficiency of the enjoyment. Another thing is that as the series it is wonderful which is an interesting one till the end.

To be honest, unless you actually know Japanese, I would recommend against it. There are fun things to do on it that don't really require understanding the language, but in the end, it's a visual novel. One thing that could help you, is that it tells you (in a way) which path you are on. So, if you just wanted the cg's, and whatnot, then it might not be bad. But, I would rather understand the story if I played it. It's your choice though.
