As implied by the subject line, this is a thread to talk about what's going on in the Magic School RP. You can talk about characters, places, whatever.

I'd like to start out with a question:
If you were to relate your character to a manga or anime character, who would it be?


My answer:

1) Naomi = Ayaka, from Re:Birth - The Lunatic Taker
Naomi was an easy one since she's so naturally like Ayaka, it's scary. I read this manga after starting the RP, so it's like I was channeling the author, or something.

2) Selene = Aria H. Kanzaki, from Hidan no Aria
Selene was a bit harder to choose a character for because I was looking for someone who fit her as perfectly as Ayaka did for Naomi. Eventually, I came up with Aria after a moment of inspiration.

3) "Selko" = THIS BUNNY.
Maybe?

I have no idea what character would parallel to Dr. Sophismata.

Sophia is based off of elements of two characters from something that is neither manga nor anime.

Well, Holly started out as Artful Dodger-esque but sorta evolved from there. She was originally destined for Alura's short-lived RP, actually.

Bernard is not really based on anyone in particular, though his first name comes from Bernard of Clairvaux.

Marguerite is based on Dagny Taggart from Atlas Shrugged.

That "Bunny" is Reisen Undongein Inaba from Touhou. Lol

Anyway, I don't really make my characters to where tehy will intentionally parallel a pre-existing character, so I honestly have no idea who would relate to Alana or Erikah. xD

Oh, I didn't intentionally parallel anyone either. I was just surprised that Naomi was so like Ayaka, and that made me want to pose that question to everyone.

And that is part of why her design is so lovely. Lol!

Anyway, I don't really know if I can draw many paralells between Emilia and an anime character. The only one that comes to mind is the one her design was originally based off of, which is Sayaka Miki. But I've been fleshing out Emilia's personality, and I think her designs differed enough...so I don't know if that really counts.

I just adopted it because I thought it would make for a great plot turn.

I just assumed the "Sel" came from "Selene", since the doll looked like her, and the "ko" was an affectionate nicknamey thing.

Pretty much. Though, the 'ko' is kind of a term to denote something as 'childish' in Japanese.
