They must localize this game! It's such a shame that 3DS is region locked, I really don't know what Niontendo was thinking when making such decision. But seriously I will buy this game for day one and I believe it is a great opportunity for Nintendo as well and the increasing popularity of Miku in the US. Not only is a good way to market a Vocaloid game to a bigger market such as the casual and female market which had been on the rise in recent years. But it is also a good opportunity for Ninty to appeal to more people and thus buying more 3DS which is what Nintendo truly needs.

I agree with cremia in the sense that the song should be left as they are. In other words in japanese. Having english subtitles is a must ofcourse. But one of the appeals of Hatsune Miku for me is because she sings in japanese. So please, if they do bring her just keep this in mind.

The only way we would be able to localize this title is if Sega came to us directly and asked us to do it for some reason. This isn't the kind of game a small publisher like us can go bid on, since it's already owned by a huge publisher in Japan with the ability to release it in the US themselves if they want to.

yeah, Google Translate kind of sucks for Japanese. you'd probably be better off emailing them in English, i'm sure they have someone who speaks English on staff.

Just do both. Alternate paragraphs with translated Japanese and English. That way if there's someone who can't understand one, there should be someone who could understand the other.

What if they said they weren't going to do it themselves, like Valkyria Chronicles 3? I dunno how that mess works.

If for some reason they decided to do that, and then for some other reason decided to come to us for it, sure. But that would be 100% on them, and it's hard for me to imagine a scenario where that actually ends up happening.

I tried to email Sega in english also and they said they only accept japanese emails. But I'm gonna try the alternating lines of english and japanese.

From my perspective, if we do not make a move they not going to came for us. we need to let them know that people on USA want the game, and not only that. We need to let them know how good will be to do that and how much it probably the game will sell. we need to motivate them, but if for some reason they didn't think for bring them. We the NIS America need to make them see that America want to localize the game, and if it is possible if they do not thought to brign it, the NIS america can doit.

but We need to let them know the benefit of bring the game. one example its what happen on the toyota event. bring any reference, comentary, discussion (like this forum topic) that can show how much people want Hatsune Miku and how well the game could sell on America.

its that Possible Houk? could you or the NIS America help us too?

Wow, so they still have to come to you. Messy business.

I wasn't really asking for this game (don't particularly care about it or 3DS in any way), but I was just curious about how that usually works out.
