Rather, my dear vampko, the subject of humanism (or rather, the philosophy bound to it) showcased by robotics has always been tackled by a large amount of science fiction, to the point you could even consider it a staple of the genre- or a subgenre of its own, even.

I mean, last I checked, there was even a game (recently released, too) based on the idea of androids being introduced into society with such precision not even those charming beings of electronics and metal knew they were so. And then all hell breaks loose, dun dun dunn.

It was that even though she was being assembled, there was this moment where you just knew you could be fooled and think she could be a human. That level of realism is the kind I love in games. Or whatever zatrox said.

Ah, that's the problem. I see it so much, I think nothing of it. It's not actually happening, it's just a video game, and the character's been programmed to act as such. It's just like a CG movie pretty much.

And what does that change? It's still an actor playing out a part. That's my point. It doesn't feel 'human' at all to me.

Instead of her 'begging for her life', why not have her convincing or even tricking the man that she should be allowed to stay? Isn't that even MORE human? The 'wah wah I'm alive' is a very old defense. Also, I'm lost as to why the guy decided it shouldn't be killed? It's almost as if the purpose was to get that reaction...
