I really hope Hakuoki does well so someone will bring this out of Japan.

I'm so in love with the art of this game and would love to see it localized. I know that the Hakuouki PSP otome game was the number one selling psp game this week. I have loved the Arland series so I am hoping Hakuoki does well enough for NIS America to consider bringing Elkrone over.

Hard to say if Gust was more focusing on Ciel no Surge. Plus also hard to say if Gust is working on another Atelier spin-off game or if they're going to create a new saga in the main Atelier series that comes after the Arland saga.

So, we'll just have to wait and see.

Another reason making me want the game badly: The heroine is voiced! (Which is normal for Atelier games, but rarely happens for otome games)

I've just listened to the voice samples at the official page, and Clemens is still my favourite of the bunch of dateables. The Alchemy looks legit to me as well, now I'm just wondering if there's gonna be any item gathering or if maybe obtaining items that you can't buy in the shops requires you to get to know the guys better so they'll give some to you.

I'm still plenty of curious for this game..can't wait for the 29th, hopefully there'll be more info across the internet when the game's released. :)

Man I'm just happy this isn't a straight VN and has 'some' alchemy aspects to it. It's bumps it's chances from like ....0.1% to like 5% >.<

I'm still wishing beyond hope that it is localized (and Ciel nosurge) though and I can die happy. I'd be happy with a straight PSN release with japanese voices!

Please work on this title NIS! I would be forever grateful!! There are so many atelier fans! Even though its partially otome! There's more people interested in this series than you think! I know many willing to buy a psp just for the game. ^___^ I hope you all consider working on this title!

Well, it's out, and, uh, the start it got in Japan probably won't help it's chances here: it sold under 10,000 copies in its opening week.

And I can't find reviews anywhere, so it seems the big gaming mags may not have even bothered to review it. Hm.

Do otome games usually get reviewed in magazines?

I saw release info in the weekly Play-Asia newsletter.

...I'd buy it, if I could read any of it.
Waiting on the other mk2 avatars.

I'm playing it right now. It's nothing like a traditional Atelier game in terms of gameplay(of course)but they did a great job at keeping the atmosphere of the main series.

If anyone has some questions or wants to me to post some screencaps just ask.

What is the gameplay like? Pure visual novel? Anything like the traditional Atelier alchemy systems? I presume no combat.

Pure visual novel. No combat whatsoever. I've come across synthesis five times so far and I've been playing for a few hours now. It's also completely impossible to screw up to the point where I don't know why it was added in the first place. When I come across it again I'll see if I can screencap it, but basically you just choose a set number of items to combine and press the O button. There's only one possible combination you can make each time you're prompted to synthesize, the game doesn't let you choose an incorrect combination and there's no time limit or penalty. So basically 0% failure rate.

I'm not saying it's bad or anything, but it really is pure visual novel and unless you have a decent understanding of Japanese there's no reason to get it. Not much for guys here either unless you like 2D men hitting on you.

As an otome game fan I'm loving it though. Everything looks gorgeous, the heroine is cute, the cast is pretty big, and like I said the game really has the atmosphere of the main Atelier series.

Yeah, that's about what I expected. Which means, I suspect, that the chances of this coming over are very, very slim.

Good to hear the atmosphere is right, at least, though I still can't get over the fact that the artist apparently didn't know how to draw Elie's cape and just copped out on her design. :V

EDIT: Actually, a question: is the game actually set IN Salburg? Or did they just plop Marie and Elie down in another town/setting for the heck of it?
