And that brings up a question: do Compile Heart even know what they're doing? If this isn't related to that Noire game, I'll just give up and wait until it's actually announced.

If that's the case, then you're going to import it? Lol.

Hell, I sure will be doing just that, especially as a limited edition. Although, that makes me wonder what bonus item(s) we're going to get from Japan. More nendoroids for my Neptunia shrine would be nice.

Most likely: yes.

And yeah I was wondering the same thing.

Either that or possibly there are actually 2 games being made, the Noire spinoff and this, maybe they're both two individual separate games. I was actually thinking the Noire game was going to be a smaller spinoff for the PSP or Vita or something or even be something as small as a game/app for your cell or something.

Or simply perhaps Noire game was scrapped because they couldn't think of any storylines for it and instead came up with this lol

I just forgot about the importing part, and also forgetting that the Japanese (of course) get it first. How blunt and ignorant of me... :P

I wouldn't say you're ignorant, I'd just say you, like the rest of us got wrapped up in the intrigue of the possible release of a new Hyperdimension game being subtly hinted by ~compile heart~

Ghaleon wrote:I kinda understand the whole charge for dlc mechanic as an attempt for game devs to protect themselves from piracy to make a profit. I can also understand the wealthy people who really aren't affected by these expensive costs saying "if I am willing to pay money for something good, I should be allowed to".

But nobody seems to get that these are GAMES, meant for FUN. I mean, when you have a little kids league soccer team, the team with wealthy kids doesn't have an unfair advantage over the other team. I mean they don't get to enjoy a bigger team cuz they can "hire" more players, nor do they get to utilize gocarts to travel across the field faster. Or when you play paintball, that rich fuck millionaire doesn't get to blast everyone with a helecopter paintball flyby. Why do videogames promote "RL wealth = more fun" more than RL ffs. This is unfortunate too because videogaming, at heart, is so successful BECAUSE it is an easily accessable low-budget source of entertainment for people. I mean you might think that buying a console system is expensive, and that 50 dollar games are expensive. But the hours of entertainment it provides as opposed to cost is *WAY* cheaper than skiing, golfing, whatever sport, clubbing, movies (movies are cheap but they only last a couple hours so...), operas, etc.

I mean, what makes videogames so successful is that it can target the massive audience of less than wealthy people (and the wealthy people). Kinda like the Sims was a monster hit because its target demographic wasn't just the nerdy gamers, but everyone...The game industry is only going to shoot themselves in the foot in the end if they keep up with the trend of making games more expensive, because they'll alienate the majority of the demographic that ONLY they cater to.

That's why hardly anyone bats an eyelid at really expensive items which are merely cosmetic or something, like the engagement ring, as it doesn't really affect the game in any way, and it's just there to capture the people who would be willing to spend lots of money on the game but aren't given the opportunity.
There's some really good statisics you can look up with on some games which went Free-to-Play and ended up to making significantly more than when they were subscription-based or what have you.

To Elston87:

EA isn't the reason Porsche isn't in Gran Turismo games. Blame Polyphony Digital for that and their problem with dealing with EA to allow them to use the license. Turn 10 dealt with EA to use the license for 3 games and then couldn't make a deal until recently to use Porsche for Forza 4. If you still want to be blind to Polyphony not trying, then blame Porsche for making a 15-20 year license deal with EA.

To Ghaleon:

You are wrong about the more wealth thing. Little kids league soccer players with wealthy kids can afford better equipment (balls, shin guards, uniforms, etc) and better players (by way of better trainers, more practice, etc). Does that equal more fun? Not necessarily, but possibly and very likely for the wealthier team if they are winning.

In paintball a richer player will be using custom guns with better accuracy, faster rate of fire, anti-fogging face shields, etc. Again does this equal more fun? I know I have way more fun playing with a good gun than the guns you can rent at the site.

On topic:

I prefer the humor of the first game (which was many times because of Neptune), but I liked Nepgear as a character more and would prefer to see another different main character.

And just because the game is named Neptune doesn't mean that it is named after the character. Please remember that the name of the land is Planeptune.

As such both of the games the main protagonist represents the land Planeptune. In fact both stories really center around the lands and shares rather than the actual CPUs.

I think what they should do is have plenty of comedy but keep a serious storyline and still have serious moments.

I believe Sora no Otoshimono did it and it worked just fine.

The first Neptunia somewhat too.

and honestly I don't really care who the protagonist is as long as it's not Nisa (No offense to Nisa fans, but I personally just can't stand her)
