Should the Next Disgaea game have a Female Lead?

Not really at all. Disgaea 2 the main character was Adell, Rozalin was the female lead. Nowhere near what was suggested.

A female lead could be interesting.

1: Asagi and NISA team up to claim the title of Main character supreme

2: The Adventures of Hanako (grown up) on her path to being a demon lord *I'd also have Taro come back, also turned back into a demon due to a promise he made to their parents to watch out for Hanako, that and as a human he couldn't serve Rozalin forever.

3: a new character based on the Succubus, and maybe another on the Nekomata *only unique and stand out*; perhaps make them rivals who want to be the next Overlord of the Dark World seeing as Priere keeps wandering off (make her a boss or later on character who joins up in the team).
3.5: or just make a sort of sequal to La Pucelle Tactics following Priere as an Overlord. Seeing as we didn't get La Pucelle Ragnarok in America...seriously why not?

4: Something totally out of left field
like oh say an Arachne or Space Demon who wants to be the next big horror movie star (my idea for a Disgaea 5 would follow these young starlet demonesses who want to be the next big thing in horror movie, the Overlord of the Red Carpet).
My Arachne idea at its basic is fairly simple, human woman torso, spider lower body. Sure if some visual and art padding it can be made into something unique. I have a more detailed image for the space demon

yeah, disgaea 1 was laharl and etna, disgaea 3 was mao and raspberyl i think, and disgaea 4 valvatorez and artina.

Laharl with Etna and Flonne

-came in Later: Gordon and Jennifer, with their gender neutral partner Thursday

(reluctant to include Maderas and "Hogmeiser" as they had no story elements past their recruitment)


Disgaea 2:

Adell with Rozalin
-Etna shows up later

the siblings Hanako and Taro,

and we had Tink balanced off with Yukimaru


Disgaea 3:

Mao with Raspbyrl, who had her own 2 female tag-alongs Asuka and Kyoko (little more than one move extra versions of the generics; thankfully the DLC in 4 gives them more unique moves; that they should have had to begin with)

any who, then we had Amaz with Sapphire

and Champloo came in extra


Disgaea 4:
Valvatorez played opposite Artina
we have Fuka and Emizel, and Fenrich who plays the maybe maybe not angle of the Bishonen bad-ass as it were.

Should D5 have a female lead?

idk... Maybe.

Do I personally want one?

Meh. Not really. Disgaea just always seemed like a series with male mains to me.

You know what I might want the main in D5? A Black Guy. No, not a FFXIII Token Black Guy, no. Just a well-developed character that happens to be Black.

I was watching a trailer for Prototype 2 today and thought to myself, "What other game has a canonically black main character that wasn't the product of a custom character creator (ala Saints Row, Mass Effect, etc.) and also was not Black simply for the sake of being Black, (ala a game like, Afro Samurai)."

I couldn't think of an answer off the top of my head. Still given NIS being Japanese, having a black character, let alone Main is bordering on Impossible. Still, it's an idea I'd like to throw out there.

But if we get another Male Demon Main Character, that'd be cool with me. (I Predict He'll have either Green or Orange hair, btw). Though I'd like it if the character was unlike the other Disgaea protagonists.
