Persona 3 Portable (PSP)

Postby yuki-chan » Mon Jul 19, 2010 6:38 am

Story
The same as P3 and P3 FES. But if you choose Female MC the're some differences, for example the social links. but if you never played any of the persona 3 games I recomend to start whith the Male MC. The story is that you're a transfer student in Gekkoukan High School, and you're moving to a dorm. When you awake your persona the story is more interesting
Score: 8/10

Grafics
The grafics are inferior of the other persona 3 and out of the tartarus the style of moving is like a visual novel, but is more fast to move. They are'nt anime cutscenes
Score: 7/10

Music
BABY BABY BABY!!
The same music in the Male MC but in the Female MC the vocal music changes. I really like the new music and the old music but I didn´t like that in the Female MC the boss battle in the tartarus is not vocal.
Score: 8/10

Difficulty
5 differents types of dificulty. If you played the P3 ps2 versions you're going to love the 2 new difficult modes.
Score: 9/10

Gameplay
In battle you can control the other characters, you can guard and the allies will take the fatal attacks for your main character preventing to you to die.
Score:8/10

Replay Value
They aren't new thinks only the Female MC Mode and new persona's.
Score: 7/10

Overall
This is a good game for the people that never play the P3 games, but if you played it is not very fresh...
I only buy the game because I was very happy for the Female MC mode and its good.
This is my first Review

Final Score: 8/10

Damn and I just bought FES not realizing that the PSP has a female main character. Though I'm still pretty happy that I went with FES.

In my opinion the best version of Persona 3. You should definitely buy it.

I'd give it 9.2 maybe...

I'm enjoying this game, but P3 FES is the definitive version of P3 to own/play (IMO).

I miss the anime cutscenes and the in-game sprites (instead of the static adventure style), but the ability to control the party during battle (i.e.option from Persona 4) makes up for some of the PSP versions short-comings ;)

Meh... The anime scenes were pretty poorly made IMO and the running around the town got tiring really fast. I prefer the "point and click" system.

Well if the movement and presentation of 3 FES is more like 4 then I'm happy with that. I usually like my games on the console version when both versions are available because things get left out in the psp versions. Though I know this is an updated version. I will miss controlling party members however.

The option to control party members makes the game (P3P) so much more enjoyable to play.

I remember numerous boss fights in FES where I'd have the boss down to the last HPs and I'd lose because my members would do something like cure someone who was mute or heal someone instead of just attacking to finish the boss off.....

Indeed, without party control you need to become a one-man army since reliance on the AI allies is truly foolhardy.

... You should have put the tactics to "Full Assault" or use "Rush".

I actually want to use the AI every now and then, it just gets tiring to direct control your party all the time.

This version of the game has decent additional content such as an unexpected yet very welcome cameo...

I've finished the female playthrough. It's a nice addition to P3's overall story :D

This cameo is interesting, especially when it's been revealed(?) that he's in a new PS3 game by Atlus :o

Holy Shi- that's cool! :D Maybe I should try this game though.

The definitive version is definitely Persona 3 FES since it's 2 games in 1 -- The Journey & The Answer. To be honest, The Journey is the main attraction since there's new quests, social links, demons, weapons, and the best part...visual attire! The original Persona 3 had you customizing your party's attire but with no visual difference. It used to drive me nuts not seeing what the girls were blushing about when I gave them a certain attire to wear. But yes, The Journey is the best part of Persona 3 FES and The Answer is more of a side quest than a additional sequel. You're stuck in the dorms until you've reached the top...*SPOILERS*...kidding. There's a story but you'll be too busy just trying to stay alive. It's challenging but fun. I highly recommend both Persona 3 FES (PS2) and Persona 3 Portable (PSP).
