Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time

A place for everybody to talk about anything game-related.

Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time

Postby TheForeignGamer » Mon May 21, 2012 2:03 pm

Didn't see a thread for this, so I decided to make one (assuming some people here are actually fans of Sly Cooper). I won't be able to play this, but I loved the first three games on PS2.

Anyone know anything else about this game other than that vague trailer that was released months ago?

It's a pretty safe bet that we'll see more at E3, especially now that it's coming to both PS3 and Vita.

Speaking of which, "Transfarring" (as Kojima calls it) is a neat idea, but as long as they expect us to buy the same game twice it will never catch on.

When you have a console version and handheld version of the same game and you use the same save data between the two.

Like, if you're playing a game at home on your PS3 and then you copy your save over to your Vita and continue playing it on the go. There's a couple of games that support this, but it requires you to own both the PS3 and the Vita versions of the same game.

Sony just calls it "PS3/Vita Connectivity" or whatever, but Hideo Kojima coined the term "transfarring"

That's really cloud saves without having a cloud.
As Steam does it for a lot of games, so you can pick up your saves on any computer. While that's also on PS3, it's a Plus feature, so I suppose it's different, but it still begs the question of why you'd buy two copies of the game...

Ah, okay. Well, yeah, that doesn't really seem all that useful. I might be a game collector of sorts, but I don't buy multiple copies of the same game. There's just no point.

Exactly. It would be awesome if you bought the game on PS3 and got a free digital copy of the Vita game. But very few people are going to want to buy the game twice just to take advantage of this.

The only one we have is this one, it'd be the go-to topic if it had been updated by the TC:

I saw that thread, but it wasn't really a topic about the game. It was about the trailer.

/haven't read the whole thread, so if ignorance is abound, then please forgive me.
