I like a challenge, but games are still sources of entertainment. If I wanted something to take really seriously, I wouldn't be a gamer. I'd get a career that kept me on my toes or something. At least then I'd be getting paid for it. xD

And I can't stand people who take games too seriously. I mean, the whole point of games is to have fun. Treating it as if your life depends on it just defeats the purpose.

I feel the exact opposite than you actually. To me playing a game merely to have fun defeat its purpose.
You can have fun doing anything really. I have fun spending a lot of time writing silly stuff on this forum.

I'm not seeking such a weak feeling when playing games.

I like to compete in video games; I really do. However, when someone has to dedicate every reflex in the body, every second of their time, and every ounce of their energy in able to "play", that's when I just call it quits. A manual labor job should require that amount of dexterity, not playing a video game.

No offense to anyone, not even you Tikok; you probably have yet to see the finesse in these players of the games I play...

Well, it's just the way I feel. I know some people who treat games very seriously, and it's not pretty. It's really dumb, actually. When you resort to physically hurting yourself, ripping apart your vocal cords from screaming every time you die in a multiplayer match, and destroying stuff, that is way over the line. When it comes to playing video games, that's an example of doing it wrong in my opinion.

I do that because I enjoy the competition, how arousing it is, and because I want to polish my skills as much as possible. I do it because I enjoy it~

That's being stupid, not being competitive. I take games seriously but I don't do that stuff. To me gaming is like a sport, some people take football seriously, I take games seriously~

I do rage sometimes when playing, but that's because I am not pleased with my own performance, but I keep it inside of me, and I know I'll do better next time.

I actually am my island's champion/top player, so I dedicate myself a lot to playing. But I don't see anything wrong with trying to polish your skills as much as you possibly can. I take a lot of pride in my gaming skills, and I'll try my best to keep polishing my skills as much as possible.

"Playing for fun" just bores me, I don't like it.
