La Pucelle: Ragnarok Request

Postby LastFootnote » Tue Jan 05, 2010 5:25 am

All right! Finally a dedicated forum for game localization requests. I'd like to kick it off by requesting that La Pucelle: Ragnarok be localized.

For those who aren't familiar, it's an enhanced PSP port of La Pucelle: Tactics that includes a new scenario and several new features. La Pucelle: Tactics was a Tactiacal RPG for the PS2 developed by NIS (like Disgaea). For more information, check out NIS's website for the game and this thread from the NISA Feedback forum.

Here are some reasons that I think it's important for this game to make it to North America and Europe:

1. It's a great game that a lot of people may have missed the first time around (on the PS2) since NIS games didn't have as much of a following in the West at the time.
2. It has a bunch of new content, including a 'New Game +' option, that the original didn't have.
3. The new localization could be free of the censorship that plagued Mastiff's original release of the game.
4. NIS has stated that this is the first game in a planned trilogy.

La Pucelle: Ragnarok was released on November 26, 2009 in Japan and NISA has yet to announce its localization. There are rumors about difficulties in acquiring the rights to the voicework from Mastiff, the company that localized this game for the PS2. If you want to see this game released outside of Japan, let your voice be heard! NISA needs to know that this localization will sell!

No actually, Mastiff bought the game here, not NISA, so it's not guarantied that it would be localized.

That being said, I really, really hope NISA can bring this one over. Especially now that a trilogy has been announced.

I, too, hope that NIS America will localize this game and its establishing sequels.
I decide what the tides will bring.

On the other hand, Atlus brought over Disgaea and Rhapsody, but NISA brought over the handheld ports for both of those.
Waiting on the other mk2 avatars.

Oh there,s no denying it. Heck, technically, it should be easier for them to buy from Mastiff then Atlus, right?

Well all we can do is hope. But I'm pretty sure that they will localize it here even though all the "Mastiff brought it here" thing.

I have yet to import this, but I would soooo be on board for a NA release. I still have my PS2 version and would love to add this game to my portable roster. With this game also being the first in a trilogy planned, and the fact that this is a fresh release with new features built into the original, it's a game for fans of old and also an opportunity to expose La Pucelle to current gamers not familiar with the franchise. I second the notion for localization of this game :)

I think this game looks great. I've been putting off playing the original with the hope that this will get localized.

I also am hoping for this. The portable versions are way easier to play in your free time not to mention the extras they add are cool too. I hope it gets localized.

Also where and what is this Trilogy about? Is there going to be three PSP games that deal with La Pucelle? Or are they going to be on other systems? Either way...sounds fun.
Hopes for NIS releases:
Who knows. :)

Apart from the fact that there's going to be two more games in the La Pucelle series, we don't know anything else. No one knows on which platform or when they'll come out, but given that lately N1 has been best buddies with the PSP, it's a good bet it'll be on that.

Has there been any news on this? I would love to see a release over here. As well as the rest of this trilogy  . I would so buy it. Who did the artwork for the original game again?

Ryoji of Attic 'Not Safe for' Work Space dot com. It appears he has returned for LP:R and its sequels.
