I'm one of the apparently rare people who liked MK2's Bad ending.
Sure it was sad, dark and depressing, but it was really well written and played out.
I also have a sort of thing for tragedy endings over happy endings
Although gotta say, i hate myself for getting it on my first playthrough. I cant listen to the ending song anymore without feeling sad >_>

Bad ends are great when done well, the issue with XIII-2 is that it's bad end also was a true end, and further... it a bad bad end.... until they decided to make a DLC true end... An off-to-the-side non-canon bad end can be a great thing, because sometimes we don't want the sugar nor rainbows....

@Alura: Nah, if you're going to kill someone off, you got to make it dramatic enough for you to care. If they did it in the beginning, it wouldn't be the same.

I like bad ends because they're more emotional than other ends, with good/True ends, it's (typically) just a case of "welp, here comes the happy, cue doves, laughter, and uguu."

Just because it was "well written"? I'm sorry but I don't like seeing my ladies being butchered :< Good endings can be emotional too..I just don't think every game needs to have a miserable ending just because the majority has a fetish for it.
