Too funny to be annoying.

Postby DoodleMaestro » Mon Nov 01, 2010 1:59 am

So I started playing, and am loving every second of it.
I've always been a roguelike fan ever since Chocobo Dungeon on PS1.
I spent many hours grinding and forging new equipment.
I took forever to make sure each piece had 150% durability.
Then I decided I was ready to try the secret dungeon.
No meat appeared at all, and I died of starvation on the third floor.
It was kind of a bummer to lose all that stuff, but it was also kinda funny that I was so worried about the enemies that something so menial killed me.
Always pack an extra lunch, kids!

You always have the waifu to take care of your needs, unless you can't call your wife in the secret dungeon?

Alternatively, equip something with 'No Pain, No Gain'.

As lame as it may be, dragging a rank 1 Appetite Engine into a dungeon and wearing it while you're just walking around can be a life-saver.

Maybe I'm tackling the dungeon too early...
So far I can only call the wife once per dungeon.

Ah, you should probably get a wife with a higher 'Love' stat, either by poking around in the Mastery Cave for a new one or having the Tigers Den facility (which, as far as I can tell, increases the stats relevant to whatever facility they're working in of any employees relative to how much your total level increases).

Funny story, actually, I lucked out and recruited a level 200 or so Serpent with a pretty good 'Love' stat pretty early on. Funny thing is, the random name she had been generated with was 'Milf'.

I entered a dungeon, but changed my mind right away because I didn't think I was quite ready for it. I didn't want to "give up" and lose the stuff I was carrying, so I exited the game with the Home button, loaded it back up, and my items and money were all gone!
I thought that was a really nice touch to the game.

If you had the caravan set up, all you'd have to do is get the caravan to show up at a proper place in the dungeon, and then you can escape once you make it there.

Yes, this was something I did early on in the game, so I didn't know about caravans or anything.
I just liked that the game didn't allow that sort of behaviour, and makes you live with your decisions.

yeah, this game has the funniest an most awesome intro i've ever played :D
the whole game is too damn funny.
and i die from starvation a lot -_- (i just beat level 4, the dungeon with the balloons and the lovers)
i had to hit that Leo guy only 1 more time, i always picked him up and then threw him away to attackfrom a distance. i picked him up and accidentally moved instead of throwing, so it needlessly drained my hp (no food or healing items...) and then i died when i threw him...

i have a milf too, but with all stats on 1 not employed.

@MrSmadSmartAlex, they sad so in the tutorial at the start of the game that resetting, while inside a dungeon, counts as dieing :) (not sure if you keep the level, probably not)

I'll have to agree with you Although weird story, the puns and references are too good to be annoying.
I'm kinda addicted to this right now and I'm like the mix between the Tactics moving and just the action rpg elements to it. basically it's disgaea without being disgaea
