Share the hate.... I mean love

Postby lopez » Mon Dec 14, 2009 7:53 pm

You know I actually bought a sealed copy of this game because I loved the artwork and because it looked interesting for an RPG.... but then I read some reviews.

Now I usually don't base my decision on a reviews score, but when I read all the negative things about the game, I had to return it....

When I heard that the original battle system was scraped for a broken one, I felt like they ruined a potentially fun game....

I think that A Witch's Tale was suppose to be an Action RPG at first.

Well I forgot the specifics, but it was something like they shoe-horned a stylus based system in place of a fully developed button-based system. This made the constant random encounters all the more repetitive and monotonous when you had to drag all kinds of shapes around the screen to do one attack instead of just pushing a button.

Battle system aside, they said the characters and story were weak, and I like my games to have substance :ugeek:

Hmmm... well the characters consist out of dolls with no background, dolls of the princesses and a little girl we know little about, is that what you meant?
in rhapsody, all the dolls have a cutscene and development

The game is OK, I got it for Christmas, nothing that good or that bad about it, probably just somthing I'll play on a rainy day here & there. Like the character desings though!

I have this and I have to say...there are things here that just feel old. The combat system for one.

The thing that gets me is the random encounters (namely the animation before them). They just seem too long. I really wish NISA would stop bringing over HitMaker games. They aren't good.
