Huh. Well, I wonder about the NA version. Will they keep Dreamcast's original design from the JP version or change it to the one in the EU version?

NA version is unchanged. You can see it at the NA site.

The reason it was changed for EU is that it's a copyright issue there. Another company already had the rights to an orange swirl logo, so Sega had to change Dreamcast's logo to blue there. No such restriction existed in other territories.

This is either a throwback to that or an extension of it if that company is still around.

Still salty the others Sega Hard Girls aren't playable to be honest. And a sequel seems very unlikely considering the sales of this game.

Also,
Spoiler:
that transformation Segami got should've been playable too. Shame.

Neptune has never been a good seller, that's not the point behind this series. These games are made cheaply with the resources Compile Heart has, and they've gotten really good with developing inexpensive titles on a small budget. The Western sales are usually what make up for the lackluster sells in Japan, but here's the thing, it doesn't need or have to sell well.

I mean, around 250K people own RB1 on Steam now.

They're cheaper on there for sure, but Steam releases are probably going to help CH production (at least in terms of volume) in the long run if they keep up.

the LEs for most games also sell pretty well, don't they? I don't think those are included on most sales figures so that might be why the numbers seem bad.

LEs have traditionally always sold out in the west. JP LE stock tends to linger, though. I've bought two of them at nearly bargain bin prices.

I'm not sure how LEs factor into western sales numbers. The exact numbers are never publicly reported and I don't know if they only come from retailers or if publishers send their direct sales numbers in as well. It's very likely that they're not being reported at all. I'm also not sure if they count digital sales. They may be strictly retail.

Now if you're talking about Japan's sale, LEs are factored in over there. They're usually just lumped in with the regular edition sales.

Megadrive and Nepgear, best girls.... why am I still hyped for a game that I only heard bad thing about it?! Is it because they tend to be more succeful here than in Japan?

Probably because most of the people who complained about this game complain about every Nep game and you've (wisely) made the decision to ignore that and form your own opinion.

I was hyped for the first Neptunia game, lad. Back in the beginning of 2011, even after the reviews started coming out that the game was less pleasant than a glass of milk with a spider in it. I ignored those boors and got the game regardless, even after my one schoolfriend who was hyped for the game decided to not get it because of the reviews.

After getting and subsequently playing the game, it helps to remember that the majority can be right.
