I really wish they would learn how to properly write for a visual novel in that case. They tend to write as if they were making an animated cutscene anyway, which gets awkward at times, particularly during scenes with a lot of movement.

Though honestly, I get the feeling that the reason is less "because it's a staple of the series" and more "do you know how fucking expensive it'd be to actually animate all these cutscenes properly?!".

While I know others have plenty enjoyed what they put out, at least for me, Tamsoft's involvement has probably resulted in what I would consider to be the worst entries to the series by far so I just can't help but be skeptical if they're going to continue getting involved in general.

The summary I did was a bit ambigous, but it was in the context after they talked about approaching Tamsoft for UE4 usage. They added a bit that up to now they did Vita games for them but they'd like them to work more on PS4 games from now on (follows the strategy discussed months ago).

Especially since a "staple" is hardly a reason to keep something. Sometimes you need to shake up the formula, like Final Fantasy and Resident Evil did and people loved them for it. They need to come up with a new recipe for success.

But that's not how they do things, since the Neverland series, way before CH exsisted. Bad or good it's up to the people playing.

Having played the four main games thus far, I can tell.

Very dissapointed that IF, Compa, Tamsoft, Plutia, Peashy and Uzume are mere NPCs... Uzume can fights since her class is that of a Fighter, but the girl wants to play solo. Go figure.

No idea if Kiria and †Kuronekohime† are playable though, so hopefully they are.

So, I watched a gameplay video....

no speaking/breathing animations. Apparently they decided not to include them in the game, no other reason was stated beyond that.

Well, just let everyone shit all over the lack of them like with mk2 and they'll be back for the next game, I guess.
I never got my avatars.
Still holding my breath for the other Marl Kingdom games.

My guess is that if they really are not going to be playable, they probably will be made so via DLC sometime down the line.

Will this game be a good reason to get a PS4 for? Or should I just wait for the Steam release (which if it doesn't happen, it'll be the first in a while).

Is this game good for an ARPG?

Good reasons to get a PS4 are Gravity Rush, Final Fantasy XV and, as such I'm told, Bloodborne.
