The multiple Endings

Postby Pinkishu » Fri Nov 22, 2013 11:01 am

(well this got a bit longer than i thought) (note: this isn't a rant or anything :P)

tl;dr: How to handle multiple endings? Just watch them somewhere? Any way to find them out on your own without playing the game 10-20 times or more? Just not care for the ones you missed?

------ Actual Post:

Hi there, I'm new to Atelier games and just picked up Atelier Rorona, enjoying it so far, even though I've been told Totori/Meruru are much better ^^ Well will see that once I get to them.

So atm i'm playing Rorona how it happens, so I do what I think fits, try to do requests for Friends if i manage to, try to do request from the Front Desk in Palace to raise popularity and ofc try to fulfill the assignments while gathering some Cole, upgrading Equipment and exploring more gathering spots.

Read about the multiple endings now, so like character endings and generic endings and such. Also read that apparently people say it is impossible (or very hard) to get the "true ending" without following a guide which confuses me a bit. Well New Game+ probably makes it slightly easier to go through the game again (didn't read up how exactly it works here, but thats how it worked in e.g. Harvest Moon) but still wondering about some things.

Like, does the game hand you any hints or such in order for you to know what you should do for the "good ending"? Mostly a bit torn atm as I like playing how I see is right and try getting through the game, make friends with the other characters and such, but also don't exactly want to miss out on endings without having to replay it a couple dozen times (well not sure how many times actually it would take but sounds like many to me). On the other hand I also want to play and not just follow some guide.

Atm I'm guessing I'll play through the game at least once how I feel right, maybe a second time (also depending on how New Game+ works) or more if I feel inclined, but more likely I'll just watch the endings/events I missed on YouTube or such as I don't really see the of following a guide to trigger specific events by doing specific things. you probably don't need the guide but I dont want to sit down either and analyze every part of the game in 10+ playthrough to get to all the endings (if i'd even be able to).

How do you people do that? Do you not care about the endings you miss? Do you play by a guide to get all the endings (and if so, did you play through it first without playing by a guide?). Or do you watch the missed stuff on youtube? Or something completely different maybe.

Hmm well to me playing by guide sounds like not actually playing, as you just follow instructions? Or maybe we talk about diff kinds of guides

The guide I saw for Rorona was literally like
Day X/Y: Do A, B and C
Day 15-20/Y: Go adventure to XYZ gathering point and gather stuff there for 5 days

and so on
