sorry for not reading the review earlier, you've convinced me that I need to play this, but I still feel I should rent it first. But finding it for rent is not working out. I know it's really super late that I said this, but I stayed away from any of the threads below the anime threads until I felt it was okay to spam. However, you're right. I completly enjoyed NieR just because it was kind of the low-budget game with great ideas and story, but that's about it. If you enjoy mediocre games with great concepts, you'll pretty much enjoy this. However, if you place polish and presentation over almost everything else, stay the fuck away from this game.

Either way, NieR was an enjoyable ride, and unlike anything I played, at least this generation. So, yeah, at best you should give it a try and see if you like it or not. Best case scenario, you won't regret it.

I don't know how it's possible, but Replicant is more beautiful than Gestalt.

This game is perfect. I cried so much, and really felt sorry for all the Shades on my NG+. Except for the Wolf Shade. Revenge is a fool's errand, after all. Kainé is the best character by far. Weiss is awesome too.
