When angel-in-training Patako hits Tenzou with a love arrow girls rush him with affection attacks. You’d think this would be the best day of Tenzou’s life, but once the arrow wears off in a day he’ll be unable to find true love. Determined to correct her mistake, Patako protects Tenzou from flocks of females by firing pheromones to keep them at bay until Tenzou can find his true love.



That’s the premise for Galgun, a rail shooter made by visual novel developer Alchemist.

The game sounds pretty cool. The bad thing is that it's for 360. The reason that's bad is because if it doesn't get localized, I won't be able to import it. Another thing is that this is the type of game where a light gun would be best. I'm still suggesting it though because it's so darn cute looking. :D

The game sounds really cool and I'd like to see a release. Though I'm a little unsure if the light gun is separate or if it's kinect. It might just be the regular controller though that seems unlikely.

It is played using a standard controller. The article even says there's no light gun. Bummer I know.

For an Alchemist game, i'm kind of disappointed. Not only did they develop it for the 360, the girls also look kind of generic-looking except that last pic which isn't even a game screenshot and just a regular image.

Sorry to bump this thread, but after playing the demo off XBL today, I was surprised at how much fun the game was. I would enjoy seeing this localized, however slim the chance is. Even just an XBL release could work.

i really really want to play it, but i doubt NISA will localize it.

No chance of a localization, not for this type of game.

Besides, Microsoft Japan censored the crap out of it, so pretty much the whole point of the game is ruined.

What did they censor? I've played the demo, you can still see the various girls' panties in it. It didn't strike me as having anything censored at all.

The developer teased Kinect support for the game if it ever reached 1 million sales worldwide. Should it get released outside of Japan, the title of the game would be "Japanese MOE Galaxy."

Haven't tried the demo yet as the gold membership on my Japanese account has long since expired. Can't wait to try it out and the upcoming Catherine demo as well.

of all the games that came out only in japan, i think this one it's perfectly expendable, and i really don't see the reason or point of localizing it. The genre itself doesn't work very well with home consoles, if you really wanna play an on-rail shooter, you go in a nearby arcade and play some House Of The Dead, Time Crisis, Ghost Squad, whatever. the 360 doesn't even have a light gun (the Wii would have been a better choice, it's pointless playing this kinda game with a normal controller), it's a moefest, the plot is plain silly, not really a bad thing as story doesn't matter at all for this genre, yeah, but doesn't help the game in being "appealing" outside of Japan.

Don't mean to bash it or anything, but i think it's kinda pointless to even hope for a western release.
i'd prefer to see something that's more "new" to western audiences, like VNs, still niche stuff, i know, very niche stuff. speaking of 360 games, i would like to see translated Stein's Gate, so i can give it a go, but again, is kinda pointless to even hope. Too bad. :D

That's awesome! I want to try this game just for the absurdity of it. It is an odd choice to pick a platform without much light gun support or a supplemental controller that could act as one. Maybe Nintendo/Sony were initially more stern in what they'd allow. Microsoft seems to be more lax on what they'll allow on the platform in Japan (though they too are tightening up due to Kinect and wanting a more family-friendly image).

I also hit up Atlus and Aksys as well. I'd really like to see if the VN genre could get some traction here. The DS games seem to do well enough.
