Interval - The Gate Keepers editing staff moves around like crazy!
During intervals between the story and before battle, you can use the Editorial Department to save your game and change various settings.
The Editorial Department comes to life on screen through the use of GHOST technology. At first, you'll only have a few friends, but as you progress the story, you'll gain more friends and be able to catch a glimpse of the work that goes on in the Editorial Department.
Things to Do during Intervals
♦ Gate Keepers Website
By selecting the PC you can visit the Gate Keeper's website and view any received requests. Requests accepted here will allow you to engage in free battles to level the main character and earn money.
♦ Briefing
You can view the briefing screen for any exorcism request that you have accepted and prepare for battle. During the pre-battle briefing, you will form your strategy and prepare your allies. You can also place traps based on where you predict enemies will be. If you place detectors, you can tell where targets are located. Enemies of a certain level cannot pass through salt or liquor, and can be distracted by decoys. Master the use of traps to expediently defeat the enemy!
♦ Coopa Express
When you accept an exorcism request, the floor plan of the area will be delivered via motorcycle. You will earn points based on the miles traveled, which can be exchanged for equipment and other goods.
♦ Shop
You can go to a convenience store, 4-B, to purchase items used in exorcisms. If you purchase above a certain amount, you will receive a lottery ticket, but you won't know what you've won until after you draw it.
♦ M.I.T.
Located in the Gate Keepers' basement, the "Moichi Industrial Technical-Laboratory" is where Moichi Sengen, the creator of the Ouija Pad, can be found. He'll glady take items off your hands to craft the tools you need for exorcisms. Some items, such as the detectors used to display ghosts on the Ouija Pad, can only be made here.
♦ Items
Items can be used for development at M.I.T., and some can even be equipped for use during battle. Many objects, ranging from the mundane to specialized exorcism devices, can obtained in the game.
♦ Locker
This is where you can equip weapons, armor, and items to use in battle. Wearing the EMF detector will let you see nearby ghosts, so it's highly advantageous to equip it on your allies!
♦ Level Up
When you gain enough experience points from battling or playing the board game, you will level up. The main character can allocate points to a parameter of their choosing. You can customize him with your favorite abilities, such as prioritizing close-range attacks.
♦ Technical Training and Special Abilities
When you select an ally from the whiteboard, you can train with them. Through training, you can improve your skills at magazine editing. This can affect various features, such as reducing the price of items at the convenience store, or earning more experience points and rewards from battle. Training is guaranteed to reward you with items. In the early stages of the game, there's a chance that training will reward you with items and weapons that can't be bought just yet. Earn TP from battling and playing the board game, and get to training!
Acquiring Special Abilities
The main character can exchange TP using the whiteboard to learn an ally's skill. By strengthening your friends, the main character can learn special abilities. You can customize your allies so they can heal and support, or give them high-powered skills so they serve a more combat-focused role.
♦ Board Game
You can play this super standard board game with friends. Featuring illustrations by Misato Kobayashi of the "Juvenile" story series. The rules are simple! A teams of hunters will square off against a team of ghosts. If the ghosts annihilate the hunters, they win. If the hunters can defeat the hiding target ghost, then they'll win. The player will execute their movement phase, attack phase, and latent phase before their turn ends. After the game ends you will receive experience points and TP, so it's the perfect way to take a break from the main story!
♦ Gate Keepers Company Car
You can change the text speed, BGM, and voice volume here.
♦ Charms
At a certain point in the game you'll be able to get charms. These lucky charms can be attached to the USB dongles and will appear with them on the Ouija Pad. Every charm bestows different types of effects, such as advantages during exorcism battles or other strange effects. Before going into battle, make sure you set up your charms.
♦ Battle Song Select
If you select the cassette tape before going into battle, you can change the battle music.
